Well done Pussy Cat!! Zaphira scores a brilliant goal, even though she didn't understand the clue (not surprising really, it was a bit obtuse ) So, chasewards we frolic, scattering glitter, cherry blossoms and cookie crumbs as we go.....

Described variously as 'Psych Folk', 'Freak Folk' and 'Avant Folk'...Devendra Banhart is one of those one-off artists who make a lot of weird, 'out there' music and occasionally produce magic. That magic doesn't happen on this album, for me (although *does* happen, beautifully, on 2007's Smokey Rolls Down Thunder Canyon, which I hugely recommend ). I got this, the featured album, for about 10 dkk in a sale, specifically because I knew it was obscure enough to give me a good quiz song It's pretty good, but unless you already know and like Devendra Banhart, or at least are willing to give it a go, I wouldn't bother with this album, to be honest. It's good in it's own way, and all that, but...well, if you like the quiz song, great - this is the album for you (and I strongly advise you to check out his other albums, too). But the quiz song is kinda what to expect, right? I like this album, but nowhere near as much as '...Thunder Canyon', mentioned above...that one's great Anyhoo - Devendra is available on Amazon, here, his home base, here and a bunch of album reviews, here.
