Manchester Holiday part Nine - Manchester Airport

My friend Steve dropped me off before 9am before he went to work and i said goodbye and thanks for having me, we had such a great time! I had my luggage with me and went to the mound at the Aviation Viewing Park to watch the planes for a few hours before making my way to the Terminal for my flight home. Here are a selection of my favourite ones from today.

Fire training is in progress, they do this quite frequently incase the real thing happens. I did think for a second that the Business jet was on fire! Glad it wasnt.

Delta 757-200 head on.

I cant believe how lucky iam to witness another emergency landing!!! This time it was a Flybe flight that had technical problems and they just followed him to stand, it makes me think i hope my flight will be ok!

I saw the plane that took me here having its engines tested out in the engine bay facility.

Dragonair Cargo 747-400 just arrived from Hong Kong.

Concorde nose.

XL Airways 737-900, shame they have now gone out of business.

At around 1pm, i got the free bus back to the Terminals and went up to the roof spotting area of Terminal 1 to see the action from there, this looks out over the parking area for the planes which was good. :D

Emirates 777-300 taxiing to its parking stand right infront of me.

Close up of the action, nice busy apron.

Jet2 757-200, the same one that had the emergency landing last Friday (22nd August).

Emirates 777-300 waiting for pushback clearance.

Short video of Foxy on the roof! P:

It was soon time to head back to Terminal 3, where my Flybe flight operates from, so i made the short journey to there and went to the fast bag drop as i had already checked in online and went through security and into the airside lounge. My flight leaves at 17:10 so i had an hour and a half to wait yet, i like to get there early so i can see the planes closer and i could see the runway too! :D

I will do the flight home on the next post in part 10, hope you enjoyed this part, i certainly did and exploring new places like the spotting roof makes it so much more fun!

That a pretty impressive post! Not only the fire training, but the emergency landing and what will become a very rare sight of an XL plane. I don't like the look of the Jet2 plane... it looks like they've just slapped on some paint for the logo. Makes you wonder about the rest of the maintenance
