Me and Mum went in the afternoon to see the waterbirds and i took my new camera to get better shots of them than i did before.
I took quite a lot of really good ones, i will post the really good ones here and more in an album later.
We had lunch in the restuarant there first which was really nice and there wasnt that many people there so the Ducks and Nene Geeses and pigeons were congregating at the door waiting for people to come out and feed them lol:P
The whats on in December list, i guess they mean January aswell.
Nene Geese and Canada Geese and Other Geese.
Pigeons landing on my outstretched hand and feeding.
Nice hairstyle on this one!
Doing close ups is suprisingly easy, this one gives me a curious look:P
As we walk along a bit, some Ducks pose for the camera or to be fed or both!
Feeding time! They get fed in the afternoon and suddenly make a loud noise when they see the person about to feed them and make a mad dash to where he is:P
Beautiful Swan and reflection.
VERY close Swan encounter here! "Hey mate no cameras!"
"Iam warning YOU! i mean business!"
"Right you asked for it Mister!"
I loved that action shot, he was protecting his mate i think and came up so close to the camera that this was done in super macro mode lol:P He didnt touch the lens so that was ok/
"This is Three Duck Squadron, are we cleared to land yet, Over!"
More Swan close ups, this time with a friendlier curious one:P all done in macro or super macro mode, he really was that close!
"Can i have a reward now that i have waited patiently for 5 minutes?"
"Thanks you made my day!" hehe!
Another Swan with feathers on its beak just after grooming itself. " oh no! iam not looking my best at the moment,
Duck swimming and the setting sun causing a beautiful reflection.
Now for some portrait close up shots, using flash as it was getting dark and was on close up mode.
I love this one! "What are YOU looking at?"
They are so tame and curious that i can get really close and they dont seem to mind which is nice for having their photo taken:)
Nene Goose face.
Canadian Goose face.
This one has scary wolf-like eyes! Its a Golden Eyed Duck. i nicknamed him Wolf:P
It was time for the centre to close as it was getting really dark, we had a great time, here is one more pic to finish off, hope you enjoyed it:D I will do an album here later after work.
