Majorca Holiday Part 6 - Returning Home.

We had a great holiday, i wish we could stay for longer but i was excited about flying home too. To see my holiday photos they r on facebook in my albums, just the flights are on Flickr.

I woke up first, we had to leave for the airport at 7am so we made sure we had all our cases packed and nothing left behind then got into the cars back to Palma Airport.

Early Sunrise over our villa with the thin crescent Moon.

We arrived at Palma 45 minutes later and checked in for our flight EZY8624 back to Gatwick. After check in, we went through security and had breakfast while we waited for our flight at 9:30am.

At 9am we went to the gate and i saw a A321 which was going to be our flight home today, it was an ex GB Airways A321 registered G-TTIF.

Flight: EZY 8624
Aircraft: Airbus A321-200
Reg. G-TTIF
Departure Time 09:30am - actual 10:30am (due to tech)
Arrival Time 12:30pm
Food, trolley service but didnt buy anything.
Crew - very friendly, highly reccommended.
Flight satisfaction, 100%

This was good because theres only 4 of these in the fleet now with the rest going to Monarch already, wonder if this one will go to Monarch too?

When we started boarding, i rushed ahead of my family because you just gotta rush and get those window seats! haha! I got a seat on the right side of the plane just behind the 2nd exit door. and my sister and her boyfriend sat next to me which was good.

When everyone was seated, the captain announced that we will be delayed for a while due to one of the engines ingesting a plastic bag, i didnt mind the wait because it meant i could do more spotting from the window and also the pilot said kids can visit the flight deck........ yes i went too LOL!!!!!

I waited until my turn to go in, the kid infront of me was too scared to go in for some reason hehe.

The pilots were very friendly and let me take a few photos of all around the cockpit and i said i like watching the planes a lot and he said "oh are you one of the bunch who stand by the fence at Gatwick?" i said yes and we laughed hehe.

I had a nice visit to the flightdeck and said thanks to the pilots and asked how long the delay will be, they said it shouldnt take too long, apparently the engineers always have the weekend off so a special one has to be asked to come in, wonder if this costs easyJet more?

30 minutes later we got given the all clear and pushed back and made our way to runway 06R passing lots of other stands and airlines. I think we were lucky that we didnt have to go far to our aircraft. :D

Video of taxi.

Video of takeoff from 06R.

The takeoff was nice and sounded different to the A319 and what suprised me as we climbed further were TV screens popping out of the ceiling every few rows or so, only seen this on the 757, shame the A321 is going as i think this is a nice feature to have on its A321s.

I took dozens of window shots with nice cloud formations and snowy mountains.

1813

1811

Foxy having a nice flight video.

We cruised at FL330 and it was a lovelly flight and a little later we saw another easyjet A319 going the same way as us, like in a formation! I took many photos, unfortunatly even with the long lens they were blurry but here they are.

1822

I found that really beautiful to see, i saw the co pilot while waiting for the loo a while later and he said that plane was heading to Gatwick too but as we were faster we would arrive about 15 minutes ahead of it, how cool!

Some more nice window shots.

1837

1857

We started our descent into Gatwick over the Channel, i bought an easyJet A321 and A319 in a box which was cool.

Nearly home.

1866

I spot Bognor! its so easy, look for the small blob of white, its Butlins, thats how i always know when arriving into the UK from the south.

1871

I love seeing where i live from the air and seeing places i go to, the long peninsular is Selsey and Witterings, i go there to a club and its fantastic from the air!

Aircraft always come over here then turn right towards Gatwick, see them from my house a lot doing this. Unfortunatly, Bognor was getting obscured by cloud but we were lucky to catch a glimpse of it! :D

Video of landing at Gatwick 26L.

Video just after landing, (my camera was having a bit of trouble, freezing at some points and if it froze i lose the vid so hence why i did it in 2 parts incase it did.)

It was a nice landing and i saw a VS 744 depart and i saw one of easyJet's new A320s G-EZTH land just after us.

1915

Arriving at North Terminal sattellite again, thats good as i want to have a bit more time on the bridge.

1921

passing under the bridge, heading for stand 101.

1928

It was a very nice flight and the crew and pilots were so friendly and i said goodbye to them as we disembarked and made our way to the bridge. When we were on the bridge, i stopped for a while to snap photos of planes. As its a rare opportunity i took it to full advantage hehe. :D

G-VROY parked at remote stand.

1980

I was lucky to catch this BA 772 G-VIIC being towed to a stand, as after 12:30pm these are nearly all gone.

1963

The bridge is segregated for arrivals and departures which is good for sorting passengers but if you wanted to take more photos its best to arrive earlier, i will know this for next time.

We got to immigration and its such a breeze when you compare it to Heathrow. I havent flown from Gatwick for a long time but it felt the same as back in 2005, when i went medium haul. (last time was last year but that was domestic and one way to Manchester.

When we got to arrivals, we collected my baggage and said goodbye to my brother and his girlfriend as they caught the train to Oxford and my parents too my suitcase home while i went to my usual spotting place to do a bit more spotting lol! :D

It felt strange being back and colder too! so i stayed for a couple of hours before catching the train home.

Another easyJet A319 landing, i finished my trip report with one of these.

Hope you all enjoyed that folks, i certainly did! It was such a great holiday and i look forward to my next flight which will be in late August to manchester and back again. :D

Majorca Holiday Part 5 - an evening Beach stroll

On our last evening before we went home, we went for a nice stroll along the beach at Playa Mon Drago and it was beautifully quiet as it was not a touristy area which made it much more relaxing. The shallow Sea looked so inviting to jump in that my sister and her boyfriend decided to jump in!

Try to spot them here!

Us walking along the beach path.

I did something interesting with the sun and clouds behind the hill on photoshop, the result is quite nice!

Me in the lagoon i made the other day, it was still there albeit altered by other kids hehe. P: As its an area of natural beauty and protected from development, the machines that flatten the sand each morning for the tourists were not allowed on this beach which makes it great.

Nice view of out to sea, i wouldnt mind living in that building, i think its a deserted one.

I took a couple of Wave shots.

The Sea looks so nice and clear, i took a photo of it but the camera dosent seem to be able to capture the true beauty of it, (was taken by the Canon 1000D this time with small lens).

As we walked back along the beach path to the other bay, i took another nice photo of the sea and boats, its a beautiful bay.

Nice shot of us walking along, it was certainly a beautiful evening,i keep saying beautiful, perhaps because it was just that lol. :D

I took one more photo of the other beach before we went back to the villa to start packing, note the random legs appearing out of the water!

When we got back, we had one more last dip in the pool and started to tidy up the area to help the people who own the villa prepare for the next arrivals, which come about 6 hours after we leave - not much time to prepare lol!

I started to pack my things and made sure i had got everything and we had to be up early for our flight back to Gatwick tomorrow which leaves at 9:40am, so we had to go to bed early.

Hope you enjoyed part 5, in part 6 its the flight home back to normality aww, hope you have enjoyed it all so far! :D

Majorca Holiday Part 4 - More fun by the Pool

As i took loads of photos that were so simular i will do toawrds the last part of the holiday and we had such a great time. I will start off by this photo of the Moon i caught one early morning. I didnt stay outside too long though as mosquitos were buzzing round me and biting me! :yikes: Thats the only thing that would discourage me from living in the Mediterranean, i prefer the UK for night photography without being bitten by pesky bugs!

Half Waning Moon going back to New.

Foxy, Snoopy and the animals on the Lilo before they sunk P:

Jumping in the pool all at once! great fun.

Having a great time in the pool, its a great family villa.

Some holiday snaps makes me think i should lose a bit of weight! lol all part of the fun!

I noticed that the Cactus has had its spikes removed, probably to protect us from injury i guess lol.

Here is a view from the BBQ area looking towards the pool.

Half Drowned Foxy!

BBQ fire, we had a great BBQ and almost burnt the sausages to make sure they were well cooked. P:

Glass of Sangria in hand, Cheers!

Nice nightshot of the Pool and lit up Tree - try and see the Mosquito, bit tricky to see!

Another view of the outside sitting area at night.

Palm at night, i was being creative lol.

We had another great day and theres more to come in part 5, hope you enjoyed part 4! :D

Majorca Holidat Part 3 - Visit to Playa Mon Drago Beach

Halfway through our holiday in Majorca we visited a nice quiet beach, its not far from our villa and its away from touristy areas so its more quiet which was good. :D

The sea was lovelly and warm and great to swim in, i even saw lots of little fish while swimming in it.

This area is protected land which means nothing is to be built on it so the surrounding landscape is covered in trees and shrubs.

Foxy at Playa Mon Drago Beach

Then i took Foxy for a swim inn the sea!

And got Mum to film me and Foxy too.

After a nice swim, i made a nice lagoon by digging in the sand a lot which was fun.

Foxy sunbathing in the lagoon!

Me in the lagoon i made, it looked really cool.

Foxy in the lagoon video.

Making an ajustment to the lagoon.

Digging out a cave, its great fun! :D

We will come back here another evening for a nice walk, i played in the sea for a while longer and then took some photos back towards the beach we walked to, it looks stunningly beautiful.

I had a great time and when we got back to Cas Tallador, i jumped into the pool with Foxy to get the salt and sand out of him hehe.

Hope you enjoyed part 3! more to come in part 4. :D

Majorca Holiday Part 2 - Playing in the pool at Cas Tallador

There is quite a lot of playing in the pool so will do a selection of them! Its lovelly and hot and the first thing i did when i got up was have an early morning swim in the pool. :D

Here is the Pool.

View looking out over the field, i kept a lookout for animals too!

Nice flowers, the garden area is beautifully designed for outdoor living which is perfect.

View of Cas Tallador apartment and Dad in the pool hehe.

Me in the pool, its nice and cool. Foxy and Snoopy joined in too!

Video of me and Foxy jumping in the pool.

Snoopy and the animals going in the pool.

Me and Foxy in the pool having fun.

As you can see we are having a great time  Foxy dries up in no time in the hot sun so thats good.

More poolside photos and a waterfight and me getting pushed into the pool!

Now its time to sunbathe! P:

In the evening, there are many Swifts but they all go crazy when they see this bird of prey, iam not sure what it is, some kind of Sparrowhawk?

We had a great first day on holiday and its brilliant! More to come in part 3, hope you enjoyed part 2 :D

Majorca Holiday Part one - Gatwick Airport and flying to Majorca

On Saturday 13th June i went on the 8:30am train to Gatwick Airport and it was really exciting because iam going on holiday to Majorca yay! :D The weather was sunny and cloudy and no rain which was good. Here is Foxy enjoying the train ride up to Gatwick.

I arrived at Gatwick around 10am and went to my usual spotting place and met someone i knew who spots reguarly too and we chatted and took photos of planes. Here are a few of them.

I took a few photos of the airside activities too while we waited.

After lunch, we made our way to gate 109 which was the new satellite terminal which is accessed by a tall bridge that goes over a live taxiway which was cool, i took many photos, using my Fuji for this as we had to hurry so i didnt change between cameras too much.

Mum walking along the bridge, its a 2000ft long one!

019

You can get cool shots from up here!

021

We made it to gate 109 and i took a photo of our plane, an easyJet A319 registered G-EZBC - one of 227 in the fleet! P:

The flight was nearly 2 hours long and there was a storm over the Pyrenees so we had to dodge that and continue towards Barcelona and turn left and descend towards Majorca, how exciting! :D

It was nice to see clear blue sky again near the Balearics, our plane does a nice descending left turn.

125

Yay here is Majorca.

That was nice of him and i said thanks and we went to arrivals and got our luggage and went on a bus to the hire car area. Then we got the 2 cars and drove to our Villa called Cas Tallador near Porto Petro, 5 kms from Cala'Dor just before nightfall.

When we got all unpacked, we all went for a refreshing night time dip in the pool! It was nice to do that after flying and then we had the welcome pack dinner provided for us which was good and yummy.

Yay! we are in majorca! hope you enjoyed Part 1, more to come in Part 2 later on. :D
