Today was freezing cold!!

It was -15C with a wickedly cold north wind which whipped across the fields causing blowing snow and whiteouts.
Heading back along the coldest stretch we were buffeted by intense gusts. Mylo could barely keep his trademark straight line as he was blown around. I wonder if these photos convey how that feels?
Perhaps visualize standing in a freezer with 20 fans blowing directly towards you

Last week was a cold week. Temperature wise it was freezing!

Plus I had a bad head cold

It was a slog getting through our daily "pulling" walks with sinuses that felt like they would explode but somehow we managed. I even took a few photos.
On the morning of Dec. 13 it was -26C outside. Brrr!!

When I opened the curtains the windows were drenched with condensed humidity.
The snowplow had just been by along the "Arctic Tundra" so I crouched low to include the freshly plowed snow (on Dec. 11).
That same day, the frozen “ice blossoms” from the previous post can still be seen on the surface of the creek poking through the dusting of snow.
All in all it was a pretty good week in spite of the weather and head cold. Here is Mylo relaxing post-walk.

snow, shadows, ice, winter
The third major snowstorm of the season hit yesterday dumping a foot of powder snow. Mylo is in his element in these conditions
Today the trees cast beautiful patterns on our walking trail.
Earlier ... On December 2 the creek was still flowing ..
Until this cold snap arrived on December 7. I call this field the "Actric Tundra" because it is so cold and windy walking along this stretch. That morning it was -11 with a -20C wind chill

If you look carefully you can see blowing snow against the treeline.
The next day the creek was frozen over and covered with strange looking ice formations ...
