A beautiful encounter with a newborn fawn

Yesterday evening I was driving to the old house to plant flowers. When almost there, two female white-tailed deer stood quietly close to the road. They didn’t run away which I thought was a bit odd. I then saw movement in the grass, a tiny newborn fawn!! I slowed to a stop. The fawn was so young that it had trouble standing without wobbling. It then started walking towards the car!! As it approached it made the sweetest nasal grunting noises. I quickly grabbed my camera and took these photos.
Approaching the car.
It's legs were very wobbly.
A little nervous.
Turning away from the road and back into the field.
In the rear view mirror I watched the mother cross the road and stop to tend to the fawn. It was a beautiful encounter on a warm June evening
