Dependerá de cada pareja. ¿Qué es el respeto en una pareja? Estar de acuerdo en como se constituye: están de acuerdo en que fuera de la presencia se tiene libertad para estar o mirar a otra persona? Perfecto!. Si tienen una relación fuera de la pareja ninguno de lo dos lo va a decir al otro, y ambos están conformes? Bien. Van a tener parejas simultáneas y compartirlas? …
Y así puede haber tantos casos como parejas en el mundo – cada cual es libre y usa esa libertad como tal o como libertinaje…es un tema privado y personal entre dos que llegan a estar juntos-. Pero siendo sinceros el uno con el otro.
Hay mujeres que aceptan la poligamia y en culturas es esa la forma, según la religión o tradición.
La falta de respeto es decir a la pareja que no estará o no se mirará a otro hombre/mujer, por ejemplo, y luego hacerlo, y seguir mintiendo al otro lo que no se es. Una relación que se basa en el engaño, no es saludable. Claro que el otro puede aceptarlo o no si se entera. Es libre.

En los relatos, el tema era esperar del otro y desde el otro, el deseo, la venganza, y la resignación. Desilusión, decepción. Callar los sentimientos. Somos humanos.
Aún con comportamientos a veces incomprensibles, si existe el amor en una pareja, también debe existir el perdón, y la comunicación – cualquiera que sea el caso - . Nadie es perfecto. Y si no se acepta a la persona como es, a pesar de equivocaciones o malos entendidos, nada, nadie obliga a estar al lado, uno es libre de quedarse o irse, por lo menos en este mundo occidental.
