Well, consider me overqualified in the surfing subject. Humbly, because I am two times a surfer, with almost 20 years of experience in two categories: surfing waves and surfing the web. I remember the first time I connected my old 486 computer to a BBS or bulleting board service, and how cool were the ASCII graphics. :-). Those days I hijacked my mom's home phone to connect at the turtle pace of 2400bps. And yep, It was really slow, but the feeling of discovery and innovation was incredible!
For the first time, it was possible to connect to a remote location and download small files and games at the click of a button. It was an awesome step into a promising future, which is NOW!...That day, I felt like Neil Armstrong when he landed on the Moon.... Hmm, skeptics, don't even try!... In this story : “We are all astronauts in cyberspace”...
Landing back, and having tried the popular browsers, I say none is more practical and complete than the OPERA browser with Turbo and Unite features. The browser is quick, secure, smarter, beautiful, very customizable, acid3 standard compliant and has lots of genius features. In “spaceship” terms, Opera is a pimped out Turbo, Millenium Falcon. In surfing terms, I evolved from IE's balsa wood, to FF fiberglass, to ride now the latest nano fiber model, a lighter and shinier Opera 10 rocket surfboard.
In Browser language dictionary, innovation would be Opera's synonym. Evident when all browsers copy and implement Opera's original features, but versions and years later. The latest 10 beta version feels light years ahead of the classical old school browsers the M empire and the dark side still uses.
Some practical features: Speed dial, Copy to note, Undo close tab, Password Manager, Spell Checker, Dictionary, Built in Torrent, Fit to width, drop down search bar, Smart address bar, voice and speak, skin and toolbar customization , Duplicate tab, Paste and Go, Panels, M2 Mail, Feed reader, Dragonfly and Opera Link which synchronizes (speed dial, notes , history and bookmarks ) using OPERA mini or Opera mobile.
Unite, a new revolution have just begun and Opera Unite is like the Force! It certainly feels like it, when people start sharing, streaming or gaming without the hassles of intermediaries and everybody having to install Messengers, P2P clients, or other software... My recommendation, Discover Opera with Unite and pimp it your way, because Opera rocks!!!
