LOL, we have the same tulips in our yard (or area, mine is in my yard LOL). We have a lot of the same flowers!! I'm thinking you must live not too far from me or at least in a like climate.
I am in Maryland...a climate we find too cold and icy in the winter and especially too hot and humid in the summer. Since my husband and I both here by happenstance, we have decided to relocate to an area where we feel more at home, in the far nw of WA state, where the Japan Current keeps the temperatures more moderate.
I had already figured out where you were...some clues in your captions LOL. I'm in NH but I like the cold and snow, I missed it very much when I was living in FL for 9 years, I missed my hills and valleys too. I've heard WA has a very nice climate and isn't as populated as MD. It does rain a lot but they say the rain is often very soft and nice. Good luck to you on your move, I hate moving but I'm always happy when I'm in and settled.
I think we the best of both worlds, with the Cascades so close. There is a Ski to Sea relay race every year from the snowy mountain slopes to the waters of Puget Sound. And, as you say, he rainfall differs a lot depending on where you are. There is actually higher annual rainfall here each year than there is where we're going, it's just more spread out during the cooler months, and there the summers are almost always sunny and mild. (Sighhh! )
