Thanks, Minette! smile

I have found that once they are in the ground they require little to no care to bloom beautifully every May...and the leaves are very beautiful into the winter, as you may have seen in one of my albums: http://my.opera.com/FrogBoots/albums/showpic.dml?album=394824&picture=5644406

Yes, mine too! I love crocuses, daffodils, tulips, lily of the valley, irises, lilies, daylilies, and peonies because all of them can be put in the ground once and then enjoyed every year. My lilies are starting to bud, so it won't be long before we have a riot of color from them! happy

I bought the house I'm in as an investment to only live in for 2 years, that was 3 years ago LOL. It looks like I'm going to be here for several more so I am thinking of more flowers, there are some now but...it's kind of like an addiction LOL.
There are orange day lilies here that the previous owner had put in and an ornamental cherry tree and some nice plantings but I'd really like more.
If only I had just a little more time and money lol

Wouldn't that be grand?! But you can get a few bulbs pretty cheaply, and some people will even give you extras as theirs multiply. My irises spread very quickly, and so I am able to give some to friends and neighbors almost every year. And they are portable too...I plan to take some of each of my dozen or so types of daylilies (hemerocallis) with me, and I have already sent some of the irises on ahead! wink
