When you look at the tree (Japanese maple) in the middle of the photo, do you see tiny new branches growing a few feet from the ground? Those are the branches you can see in the center of the photo at: http://my.opera.com/365/albums/showpic.dml?album=392478&picture=7709793
Sadako has been my "pet tree" since she was a tiny shoot with just a couple leaves! I transplanted her from a neighbor's hedge, where she had started growing and where the neighbor did not want it. Sadako is over 20 years old now.

You know Portugal was the greatest decovers in the 1400 to 1600 we still have lots of botanical gardens with those trees!
So i think that japonese traee is not problem for us!

I remember learning about Portuguese explorers in school in Australia...and do you know that now Australian children are taught that it may have been Portuguese mariners who were the first Europeans to visit Australia? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_exploration_of_Australia

It is really posible! We have descovery by sea lots of places! Cristovão Colombo was portuguese!
Lots of places was descovered by Portugueses but in secret because the English, Nederdals, and Spanish!
We descover Timor, why not Australia?...isn't? so near from timor! 500km far away!
