Whoa there guys, don't go shouting all at once. Yes yes, I know Opera Mini doesn't allow copying and pasting normally but, lets face it, I'm not a normal mobile user. I actively search for ways to increase my ability to use the tools at my disposal and it was while searching for these things that I found the way to copy any text directly from Opera Mini. Yeah, that's right, the Holy Grail for Mini users and I'm about to show you how its done.

Meet Mobitol, a site designed to add copy and paste capabilities to mobile browsers (yep, it works in more than just Opera Mini). As you can see from the screenshot you simply enter a web address, click the GO button and the text of the website is displayed in the text field, enabling you to copy it. Now obviously this isn't anywhere near as elegant and easy to use as the copy and paste functionality on desktop PCs, but it does allow you to actually copy the text from within mobile browsers. You'll probably have to sift through quite a few menu and sidebar selections to get at the text part you want to copy so it's best to use a direct URL to the part of the site you want to copy, so that you have less text to trawl through. And, of course, it only works in browsers that allow you to copy/paste from a text field.

Mobitol is currently a beta site, meaning that functionality will be added and removed over time as well as streamlined. The site is created by a single guy who just wants to add some functionality to his mobile browser, including copy and paste and opening of new windows (not supported within Mini) and has succeeded magnificently. And that's it, the Holy Grail of Opera Mini exposed for everyone to use, should they need to. Now if only we could do something to stop people asking about Flash...
