blog designs

A while ago I released a theme called Dark Professional. The idea behind the theme was to make a better version of the Darkside theme on Opera. However, somewhere along the line I decided to make the theme easily customisable for users, and cut the theme down for that reason to allow people to easily add their own effects to it. Dark Professional 2 is my attempt to get back to the core idea that I started with.
Dark Professional 2 is designed to be a stylish and professional looking update of the current Darkside theme for free use by personal blogs and groups, featuring a redesigned menu system, some renaming of elements, a redesigned blog title format, some new fonts (only in Opera 10 and higher at the moment) and some other pretty funky effects.

I just wanted to get my original idea working and out there. Next week I'll refine it a little and take it out of beta as this week the site was having problems refreshing and clearing out cached elements, meaning the ten minutes extra work that went into this design took four bloody hours.
I think the content area should be even darker for starters, as that grey looks quite light now it's uploaded. I'm gonna hit Moe up for a topbar effect he suggested for my own theme and see how he did it. After that a little transparency to the drop down menus and a few revisions to the text colours and font usage. Oh, and I may add a nice dark silk texture to the banner to make it stand out a bit.

I think it could use a little space below the footer. And I kind of don't like the sharp edges on the sidebar. Perhaps you could make them rounded or change the sidebar color to the same as the background.
If you scavenge my Neo code, I think you should be able to find some code you can make use of in this theme.
Anyway. You've outdone yourself again, Furie. I'm looking forward to the final release.

Considering the limits of my knowledge that's not all that hard.
The sidebar is meant to be the same colour as the background but I obviously messed up. When I darken the content area next week I'll get that changed too. I was considering a rounded corners banner with a black silk effect and the same effect applied to sidebar headings and quotes. I'll see how it looks if I'm able to get anything done next week.
I also need to change the foot as this one doesn't support numbers or punctuation.
