The Dark Furie

Hygenic Nightmare

A lawsuit in Texas caught my eye recently. Far from the usual over-zealous parent that usually features in these lawsuits (“The fascists told my daughter she couldn’t put her half naked so-called glamour shots in the yearbook” as, for example, in the case of Sydney Spies) this particular case not only had merit, but absolutely shocked me.

Amber and Michael Tilley are the parents of an eight year old boy and have recently filed a suit against the Peaster School District after a school nurse and counselor forced their son (referred to by the initials P.T. in the lawsuit) to bathe. After telling the boy that he “smelled badly, was dirty and had bad hygiene,” one day in November, the boy was forced to take off his clothes and the two school officials “began violently washing his body,” the parents said. The Tilleys filed suit against the School District on Thursday in federal court in Fort Worth.

So... we don't comment on here anymore, or...? left

There would be little point because...
This won't be staying here!

I thought it rude to turn off comments just yet. Once everything is moved over though I will be shutting this page down and it'll simply become a rolling feed of posts like these linking to my content elsewhere. Helps people on Opera still follow from their watchlists.

It'd probably be best to get in the habit of commenting over on Wordpress though. The full content is there and will be staying there barring some uber-ridiculous upgrade here that fixes the myriad of problems I've had with the site as well giving the staff the ability to actually debunk rumours that aren't true.

I spent last night setting up feeds on each of your pages so that I can follow them without having to log in here. Did you know a blog that hasn't been posted on in a year counts as dead and doesn't have a feed attached to it?

But you'd still have to log in here if you wanted to comment on the posts, right? (Unless as an anonymous, of course...)

Oh I'm keeping the account to comment and the like, just I now have a feed of posts to my phone without having to go through the annoyance of coming here and looking through things. They just keep making the place more and more incompatible with their own browsers and I end up being the one having to make major redesigns that work until they change again, then look like I don't know what I'm doing. I'm sick of looking like a rank amateur thanks to this site and sick of having to struggle with my own design just because the site and browser don't work together well.

With this page changed to a feed for you guys, I'll be able to concentrate on my own writing without worrying that what I write will be cut short by Opera (several of my longer posts have had a load of their content removed due to more recent changes and end in the middle of sentences and paragraphs) and be able to visit blogs more often without battling to do so.

The only way I'm removing my account is if someone does indeed sell to someone like Facebook which I simply refuse to be a part of.
