The Dark Furie

I'm A Widget

,

There's some more good news for mobile phone users next week, to go alongside the new beta of Opera Mini 4. Widsets, the widget system from Nokia is coming out of its Beta testing stage on Tuesday the 23rd and becoming a full product with several extra features added.

In a minor celebration of this event I've created a quick widget that puts this blog on your phone screen. Widsets downloads things when you choose so you can update my page while waiting at a bus stop then go offline and read it while on the bus.

You can download Widsets at http://get.widsets.com from your mobile phone browser. Don't forget to add the Dark Furie blog as one of your widgets. Just use the search function to look for "Dark Furie" or hunt through the Blogs and Forums section until you find me.

So...it's a prettier front-end for RSS feeds?

Pretty much. Each widget tales the form of box with and icon on a starfield. Clicking it opens the box to full screen size and allows access to it's feed.

It only updates while you're in the application and online so you can manage your data better than setting RSS feeds on your phone.

Had that before, wasn't impressed. It didn't work properly and ate a lot of traffic down But if you insist, I'll give them another chance. Just to read your posts on the bus stop lol
