The Dark Furie

Furie's Free Mobile Software

Early this morning I was fooling around with a couple of photo editing applications I downloaded and created this.

Knew you'd like it.

I'm making all the software I think is essential available to anyone who visits this page from now on. I'll add a link to my MOSH page lower down with a list of other software available through different sources.

Most people are on limited data plans which stops them from browsing the hundreds of applications that these sites have. Fortunately I'm not, so when I find something good, you guys will be the first to know about it.

First things first, here's some of the good stuff that you can't find on my MOSH page.

Opera Mini 3.1.2, Opera Mini 4 for all your web browsing needs.

Zip Compatibility to enable more download types.

Screenshot Application grants the ability to take screenshots from anywhere in your phone. This is courtesy of Antony Pranata.

And finally, the link to my MOSH page. On this page I'll cherry pick applications so you don't have to waste data finding and downloading things that you don't actually want after all. Only after testing will I add applications, and I'll only add full ones so there'll be no limited time demos. There're a few good things on there now so, if you've got a third edition Series 60 phone, head on over.

~ Callya ~ 16. January 2008, 11:45

Excellent! Thanx a million Mik .
I like the photo editing, looks reeealy cool

The Dark Furie 16. January 2008, 13:15

It's two different packages. First one takes an image you've already got and can change it into a painting using different styles and colours.

The second allows you to make postcards out of several images. It's meant for MMS but allows you to save them and use different templates so it's perfect for this place.
:D

~ Callya ~ 16. January 2008, 14:14

Hmmm, for some reason i can't download either of the photo editors... It says "feature not supported". I think my phone is buggered again :irked:

The Dark Furie 16. January 2008, 15:35

What phone you got again? Try clicking the application name then clicking to download from the page it takes you to.

Cois 16. January 2008, 16:48

Can't wait to try these new applications out.. great idea by the way.. now tell me what's that in your head? can't make it out or am I supposed to? p:

The Dark Furie 16. January 2008, 16:54

Nothing in my head. I set the painting application to sketch and chose primary colours only. It makes it look like a kids drawing. :D

The Dark Furie 16. January 2008, 16:57

By the way, they're mostly Symbian applications. :frown:

Cois 16. January 2008, 17:59

I thought you might've put a small Kimmie pic there p: wonder if you can do that..:D

r♡se 16. January 2008, 18:00

Cool photo editing.
Are the downloads for Nokia only?

The Dark Furie 16. January 2008, 18:06

Yeah, only smartphones too mostly. Not sure about the games I added for you though.

The Dark Furie 16. January 2008, 18:07

Not with the applications I've found so far dude.

~ Callya ~ 16. January 2008, 18:11

Nokia 7610. Tried both ways... Not downloading.
I'll have to get a 6120 now...

r♡se 16. January 2008, 18:16

Oh :frown:. I guess my sorry old Sony Ericsson won't do for this...
I downloaded Zuma anyway, but can't open it. I see it's an .exe file and I'm on a mac now (I guess I have to do something with it? The phone won't open it either.). I'll give it a try when I'm on the PC.

The Dark Furie 16. January 2008, 18:19

An exe file? Someone obviously screwed up. I'll remove it.

I had the same problem recently C. Couldn't download a thing. Test it with a photo on here to see if it's your network.

~ Callya ~ 16. January 2008, 18:26

Downloading your photo worked fine... :sherlock:

Kimmie 16. January 2008, 18:27

You thought one of those pics was ME?! Asshole!

And, yes. You can put in whatever pictures you like, there are different layouts too :D

Cois 16. January 2008, 18:30

p:

r♡se 16. January 2008, 18:35

Well, Luxor installed fine and played fine too. The first time. The second time the screen went all black :frown:.

The Dark Furie 16. January 2008, 18:36

Weird...

r♡se 16. January 2008, 18:43

Hmm.. Working again, but the screen is cut off so I can't see the bottom and right end. It won't let me adjust the screen to landscape either. I'll look into it a bit more later, though. Thanks for the link :D.

theoddbod 16. January 2008, 20:23

Hmmmm...this 'Opera Mini' thing looks interesting...:left:

Aadil 16. January 2008, 20:31

You don't have any java :frown:
My poor ol' LG u8120 doesn't have much going for it.

The Dark Furie 16. January 2008, 20:33

Definitely an essential software. And it's hell to find a direct link if your phone's good enough for Mini 4.

The Dark Furie 16. January 2008, 20:41

Java apps are small enough usually, easy to find and come complete. The Symbian apps take more finding unless you want an incomplete or timed demo. And when you pay for data and download a 4MB application only to find out it needs registering, it pisses you off.

Christopher DaSilva 17. January 2008, 02:06

I still don't get how can people browse on mobiles :yikes:

It takes me ages!

~ Callya ~ 17. January 2008, 06:10

Once you're used to it Dannii, it's quicker than a computer :D

Cois 17. January 2008, 07:59

The Dark Furie 17. January 2008, 09:46

Cois 17. January 2008, 14:09

Furie not Fury... got it:whistle:

The Dark Furie 17. January 2008, 14:20

Cois 17. January 2008, 15:27

~ Callya ~ 17. January 2008, 17:08

The Dark Furie 17. January 2008, 17:41

Cois 17. January 2008, 17:55

The Dark Furie 17. January 2008, 19:15

What's the difference between the new one and the old one?

Nico Zandberg 17. January 2008, 20:26

Thanks furie. Keep 'em warm for me untill I get my nokia 6120c next week.

Aadil 17. January 2008, 21:11

Other than operamini 3, i've yet to find any usefull apps for my phone. most apps don't work or don't do anything usefull.
And the games for cellphones are pathetic. My old C=64 had much better games. I regrett letting it in awww

The Dark Furie 17. January 2008, 21:27

Depends what kind of games you're into. Strangely, the sort of games that work best on phones are the slow moving strategy ones. Look up Townsmen 2 on Google mobile and you should find plenty of free downloads for it. It's still one of my favourites and we're up to Townsmen 4 now. :D

Aadil 18. January 2008, 08:23

Ta, I'll give it a whirl. :D

~ Callya ~ 18. January 2008, 10:51

Mik you are sooooooooo bad... I downloaded Townsmen2 this morning while reading these comments, and I haven't stopped playing since... had to stop now cause my battery gave up p:

The Dark Furie 18. January 2008, 11:41

Addictive isn't it. :D

~ Callya ~ 18. January 2008, 12:16

Very addictive, even though it takes time... I'm on mission 3, :irked: my men went on strike!

The Dark Furie 18. January 2008, 12:30

Never played the missions. I just go on free mode and get pissed when an earthquake changes my only fishing hole into a mountain. :irked:

Cois 18. January 2008, 17:02

Seems I must go looking again.. p:
