At the moment I'm chilling out with a smoke and a can of V while Kim rocks Tenacious D on Guitar Hero 3. Great game. We haven't bought it before cause it's so damned expensive with a guitar and can't be played without. Yesterday we found it on PS2 with a guitar for £48 at Woolworths. It wasn't even out on the shelves so if you're looking for it, ask at the counter.

Apart from that I've been testing some new mobile applications out. They're both betas but that's where the difference ends. One is highly polished, the other still belongs in it's alpha testing phase as far as I'm concerned. It appeals to my sense of irony that it's the big company that has the worst product at this stage, especially as it's a beta of the third version of their Yahoo GO! Mobile symbian application.

Strangely, until I deleted this application, every image I had in my phone showed up as a horse in it's thumbnail version. Yeah, thanks for the weirdness Yahoo. Surely the constant connection problems on your application were enough?

On the flipside of the coin we have EQO, who have just released the first beta of their new symbian messenger. Anyone who's played with the java version of EQO knows that it's a great messenger if a little cheeky about loading all your contacts into the application to help you with it's VOIP functionality.

The symbian application continues this tradition and, although this beta is missing the VOIP functionality, as a free messenger it can't be beaten. The only bug I found in it turned out to be a problem on my friend's end (seriously, who stays logged into MSN for a week?). Highly recommended. Get it here.

mind after playing around with some messengers I got bored and stayed with one that suited me..

Yeah, but don't bother with that unless you've got a crap network. Cost me almost three times as much on their credit to send a text. The instant messaging's one of the better ones though.

I found EQO a couple of days ago - it's definitely one of the better messengers. I've yet to find one where the interface wasn't designed by a sadist though.

Yeah, me too. Preferably with smiley support too. And a translator so when the girls type in the latest teen craze (accented letters damn them) normal humans can understand. :D

The ones that do have smilies are often icky - Opera definitely has the best smilies :D. The ones for EQO are creepy blue things - just wrong.
