The Dark Furie

The Sims 3

Aaaaargh! That was me yesterday.

I'd just spent more time than I should have compiling a pretty huge post about The Sims 3 which will have it's features revealed to the world on March 19th.Included in my post was a nice little list of features I'd like to see implemented with reasons why.

So, as I said, I'd just finished the post and was planning to put it up as a two-parter with the first part being today. First I checked my feeds though. And that's when I saw the thing that made me cry out in anger... Games For Windows magazine has published a 12 page preview of the game showcasing some of the new features. And to cap it off, some of my big ideas for the series are actually in the game. If I put my post up now then I'll just look like a sad little copycat. Hence the scream.

I'll be writing a new post soon about the new features once I get over the annoyance of this.

I hate it when that happens. :irked:

Kimmie 9. March 2008, 09:53

It's so bloody frustrating...

I'll just give a hopes versus reality post later, maybe tomorrow.

Don't be sad little Furie..

Happy post coming up.

Cois 9. March 2008, 10:14

Is random killing and mayhem included?

theoddbod 9. March 2008, 10:28

I just don't get the Sims at all. Or any of the Sim games, I guess.

The Dark Furie 9. March 2008, 10:33

That's cause you don't have a God complex. :D I'm a watcher by nature. I'll sit in a coffee shop and invent life stories or situations for the people around me.

The Sims is a version of that which allows me to wall those people up and perform experiments on them. And I think I've just found an ending for your Bored story.

theoddbod 9. March 2008, 10:37

Well, I still play Civilization and other strategy games. Maybe I have a Warrior God complex.

Actually, your ending was at one point part of the beginning and is still a possibility.

The Dark Furie 9. March 2008, 10:44

Hurray! He's a Sim.

I want Civilisation Revolutions for 360. I know it's watered down a bit but that sorta game'd be great to just kill a few hours with one bored day. And I have a lot of those now.

theoddbod 9. March 2008, 10:59

Revolutions? Never heard of that one

*heads to Google*

Hmmm...looks a bit odd. Pretty though.

The Dark Furie 9. March 2008, 12:00

Looks well strange doesn't it. Still, with the basics of Civilisation running behind the pretty graphics and an easier to remember system it should provide plenty of fun. I just hope they haven't sacrificed features to include a story mode.

Aadil 9. March 2008, 12:22

Is there a mobile java version of any of these avalable?

The Dark Furie 9. March 2008, 12:46

Not yet. Well, there's Civilisation but it's basically unplayable. And the Sims 2 game has been out for years. It's not bad for an hour or so.

Miss Kimbers 10. March 2008, 09:37

hehe I do the coffee shop inventing stories about people around me too! It's fun! :D

I used to be a big Sims fan. I was probably addicted to it when I was 13. During my 3 months of holidays I decided to play it again because i was bored but I couldn't see what I thought was so great about it :frown:

The Dark Furie 10. March 2008, 10:08

They water it down massively on console, but sometimes it's fun to come back to and muck around with.
