Mobile Newsroom Package

,

Introducing my Mobile Newsroom Package. Created for the professional on the go, this package centres around allowing you to keep an eye on the news wherever you are using your s60 3rd edition phone. And, as this is a Furie approved and tested package, you can be sure that everything will be done as cheaply and as stylishly as possible.

This package contains the following:

  • Like Haze theme for that distinctly professional look.
  • Two satellite wallpapers to add a newsroom feel to the Active Standby screen.
  • Mobile Weather application to keep an eye on the weather in any of your multiple chosen locations.
  • Reuters Mobile application to read news stories in a slick and cheap environment.
  • Touchticker application that adds a news ticker to the bottom of the Active Standby screen.
  • Reuters ringtone for those that love the news a little too much.

To download this package you'll need ZIP capability on your phone. If you don't have one already you can download a good ZIP manager here for free, which will enable you to download ZIP files.

Once you've got that installed you can get this package by clicking the download icon on the left of the page.

Mik,my budget is 200 to 300$,which latest mobile would you suggest me to buy?

Furie 8. July 2008, 12:03

Are you talking with or without a contract?

KYren 8. July 2008, 13:38

Without contract. I don't want to get into the clutches of the mobile operators.

Cois 8. July 2008, 14:16

I saw when you collected this on your Mosh page but never got around to it..
Will have to wait a bit stil as my network is messed up all day now.. :irked:

qlue 8. July 2008, 14:50

They've been messed up all decade. .
It could be worse, They don't require your soul as a deposit yet! (it's only optional still ) :left:

Furie 8. July 2008, 16:19

I'll warn you, it's a bit over a 2mb download. It's a practice for my mobile blogging kit, which will be smaller, thankfully. Finding the right format for inserted files (I'm going with .txt now), finding any upload/download problems, determining the best place to link to, etc.

There's not much choice at that price range Kiran. I'm assuming you're using american dollars so I'll have a look around. Let me know if you're not.

KYren 8. July 2008, 17:15

I am using Indian Rupees. My budget is 10,000 to 12,000($200-300) in Indian Rupees. You know you can buy a 21' colour TV at that price in India.Buying a new mobile every 3 yeas is like buying a new tv every three year. Most of the people here don't throw their tvs for 10 years.
Btw ovi.com doesn't work well on 6630.I think I will use photobucket.com.
My mobile operator doesn't allow me downlaod more than 2 Mb at a time.

Furie 8. July 2008, 18:25

That's cause it's http://share.ovi.com that you're looking for.

Lets see, todays exchange rate puts 12,000 rupees at $298 or £150.52. For that price you're pretty limited in what you can get. Having said that, Nokia's just released series 40 5th edition in it's Supernova line. Or if you're interested in a smartphone there's the old series 60 2nd edition for that price.

Back in a sec with a link.

Cois 8. July 2008, 18:44

Size doesn't matter although if it'll work does.. i've downloaded some large files only to find they don't work on the phone..
That's the part that sucks to be a South African on limited data..

Furie 8. July 2008, 18:47

This is the best featured phone on your budget at the moment, Kiran.

Or if you don't want a smartphone you could try this.

Furie 8. July 2008, 18:50

It should work fine, although it's several applications, not just one. :D

KYren 8. July 2008, 19:01

I want a phone which would be compatible with your MOSH apps.Rs. 12,000 still a big amount and it's unfair that I can't get a decent phone with touchscreen at that price.

Furie 8. July 2008, 19:37

Touchscreen tech is still expensive. If you want one that'll work with the apps I put up here, go for the first link I put up. You can ask Clint for an opinion as he owns that phone and doesn't brick it half as much as I do.

Furie 8. July 2008, 19:45

Oh Clint, I've just finished compiling my mobile blogging kit and there's only one app that you don't have, I think. I'm gonna mail it to you in a ZIP file. Let me know if it works when you can download it will ya?

Cois 8. July 2008, 19:50

Network fulla crap still.. Downloads but after a while restarts whole download.. :irked: not my week this is..

Furie 8. July 2008, 21:58

Hate it when it does that. I thought for a while it was Nokia cause it always seems to stop at 44% :bomb:

Cois 8. July 2008, 22:34

You too huh.. :irked: gonna try in a bit again..
I haven't downloaded all my previous apps yet.. Or most and others I just don't use..

My signal strength has been one bar to nothing all day and I can't figure out why.. Gonna bother someone soon just for the heck of it..

Cois 8. July 2008, 22:47

Bloody networks.. :irked: think I'll call it a night.. Meds making me loopy anyway.. p:

Cois 9. July 2008, 00:07

Network worked fine from around 1 now it doesn't wanna download.. :left: something is messing with me..

KYren 9. July 2008, 03:46

Thank you,Mik.Btw which phone you are using nowadays,Mik? Ovi share is still not working on my phone.6120 is not available in India. So I will have to keep using 6630.Hi Cois, what's been your experience with 6120.

Cois 9. July 2008, 09:32

Overall its a nice little phone for a first smartphone.. Its dependant on the person who uses it I'd think..
Bit on the small side but you get used to it pretty quickly..
Now if only my bloody network will stop messing with me I'll be able to download some more applications to make it even cooler.. p:
