The Dark Furie

Bubbles

So, the new My Opera is up now and before I even check out the new features I gotta ask people what their high scores were on Bubbles, the game on the downtime screen? Whoever made sure that game could be played on Opera Mini as well as PCs needs a pat on the back.

As you can see, my best score was a rather dismal 326 points. I'm sure you guys can do better.

Well, the site was down all day and now no-one has a member photo anymore. Glitch one...

I think I had exactly the same score :D.

It can only go up from here now .
Us PC-ers have a button that says "mobile view" at the bottom, allowing us to see the page like it would be in Opera Mini :D.

MizzMartinez 18. November 2008, 22:00

I got 274 :o:

I kind of like the new My Opera! Even though there will take some time before we get used to this one...I'm already sooooo HAPPY! :D

clean 18. November 2008, 22:04

I think mine was 377. In the irc channel, Espen had some merch for whoever could prove they got above 350 first (I was beaten by Coxy's 2755) ...

rose-marie 18. November 2008, 22:08

I think a more important question is - how many rounds of Bubbles did you play? p:

theoddbod 18. November 2008, 22:10

I scored zero due to being at work all day, and when I came back the site was happily either timing out or loading the front page and then timing out p:.

I'm not sure the member photo counts as a glitch as they seem to have purposefully disabled it Homer: Doh!

Furie 18. November 2008, 22:11

:eyes: Sounds like Coxy has waaaaay too much free time. You guys wouldn't believe how much of a pain this is on Opera Mini now. I'm having to run the site in PC view and the browser in mobile view (which just shows what the mobile view button on the site does anyway) in order to get anywhere.

Anyone got word of new features yet? All I'm seeing is an easier to access top-bar and a new blog design.

Furie 18. November 2008, 22:13

Aaargh! Member photos just got struck by lightning. :yikes:

clean 18. November 2008, 22:16

(I think Coxy said he'd done a little Photoshopping ... )

Furie 18. November 2008, 22:19

A witch!

H82typ 18. November 2008, 22:21

Yeah, Mik, I saw that lightning, too! No bubbles, however... just '503 errors', timeouts and '... temporarily unavailable'. All day long.

theoddbod 18. November 2008, 22:29

dragonfly appears to be the only new smilie Homer: Doh!

Cois 18. November 2008, 22:30

I played a few rounds but got bored

MizzMartinez 18. November 2008, 22:35

dragonfly What does it mean?

Furie 18. November 2008, 22:36

Had to edit that comment to figure out what the hell it was. :yuck: Was wondering why we needed a telegraph pole smiley...

Where an i supposed to find the bubbles game now that my opera is back up again? Want to try again.

theoddbod 18. November 2008, 22:50

I'm guessing it was this :

http://widgets.opera.com/widget/4715/

theoddbod 18. November 2008, 22:59

There are other new things, in theory. For example, everything is now supposed to be reportable to a mod (albums, users, blogs, comments, etc) but that seems to be AWOL at the moment.

The top bar colour is now selectable as part of the blog Design page. Er...4 new fields on the profile page?
You can now pick the language for all the menus and link captions and so on, but english speakers won't care about that too much.

There's other stuff, but I think it's still disabled.

rose-marie 18. November 2008, 23:14

Gah! Thanks for posting the link to the widget... Now I have to break my record .

396 now :left: p:

Nico Zandberg 18. November 2008, 23:20

Thanks for the link. Still looking for the opera mini version as well.

Dacotah 19. November 2008, 00:07

Mine is only 364.

qlue 19. November 2008, 03:39

I couldn't get bubbles to work on Operamini 3.1 so I tried my phones built in browser and that was worse. I finally tried 4.2 but still no luck. awww .

I need to get a good phone but all the S60 phones that are available over the counter here have tiny screens the size of my thumbnail! .
I tried ordering one of those nasty branded contract deals but that didn't pan out as it seems that getting something delivered to Umzinto is nigh on impossible! :insane::aargh:

Zaphira 19. November 2008, 07:03

All I got was

You don't seem to be using Opera or another web browser supporting Opera Widgets.

Moesring 19. November 2008, 07:47

I tried it once and got 250. Then I remembered how awful I am at Bubbles games, and so I sulked for a few hours until My Opera returned. P:

Cois 19. November 2008, 09:05

Furie 19. November 2008, 10:02

Umzinto sounds like a soft drink aimed at kids. :D

qlue 19. November 2008, 16:13

This is the Umzinto where I live. Sadly, very little is said about this mudhole that's relevant to people who actually live here.

AOTEAROAnz 20. November 2008, 13:16

446 p: after a gazzilion hours of playing...
