Feel the need to pray but can't find a church (obviously forgetting the God is everywhere belief), then drop in to your nearest prayer booth. You gotta wonder if prayers from different religions will reach their God if sent via one of these things. lol

Moesring Saturday, November 22, 2008 11:52:47 AM

bigeyes

First of all, is it real?

Bad WolfCois Saturday, November 22, 2008 11:57:21 AM

lol that is so uhm... Desperate?

Dark FurieFurie Saturday, November 22, 2008 12:22:42 PM

Far as I can tell, it's real. It's an art project designed to spark a dialogue about religion. It's in New York of all places, where it's likely to spark a dialogue about mugging. rolleyes

Dark FurieFurie Saturday, November 22, 2008 12:27:57 PM

I just linked to the Daily Mail. yuck

Moesring Saturday, November 22, 2008 12:39:35 PM

If it is an art project, then it does not really qualify as "real" to me. To me, that makes it no more than an elaborate hoax. down

Dark FurieFurie Saturday, November 22, 2008 12:52:49 PM

When people start using it for it's described purpose it becomes real. And people have been dropping to their knees and praying.

It's the "start a dialogue about religion" thing that makes me laugh. Obviously this artist is very perceptive to see that what this world needs is more discussion about religion. We don't do that enough...

What a cool idea... whistle

Dacotah Saturday, November 22, 2008 1:08:07 PM

That has to be the oddest thing I have ever seen.

Dacotah Saturday, November 22, 2008 1:09:30 PM

Mik, what's wrong with your post? It's just like Cois's, there is alot of room from the top of the page to the beginning of the post.

Dacotah Saturday, November 22, 2008 1:11:34 PM

KittyliciousZaphira Saturday, November 22, 2008 1:37:59 PM

What a weird box!

And the post looks normal to me - I don't see blank space over it.

Dacotah Saturday, November 22, 2008 2:04:43 PM

Zaphira, that one was taken using the Opera browser. This one is with the IE browser:

With the IE browser the beginning of the post is ok but the banner isn't. Odd.

r♡serose-marie Saturday, November 22, 2008 2:39:32 PM

Interesting that they need specific prayer booth instructions...

KittyliciousZaphira Saturday, November 22, 2008 2:53:02 PM

It looks normal in Firefox, Carol. Like this:

Dacotah Saturday, November 22, 2008 3:41:11 PM

That's good it looks good in FireFox. smile

Dark FurieFurie Saturday, November 22, 2008 4:00:44 PM

Clear your cache and try it again Carol. It's possible that the old version of Opera in there isn't working with the new one.

Dacotah Saturday, November 22, 2008 5:00:08 PM

I tried that Mik and tried F5 too, it's still there. Other blogs are fine, just yours and Cois's are doing this. I dunno. sad

theoddbod Saturday, November 22, 2008 5:13:01 PM

I see exactly the same thing, cache and everything cleared.

Dacotah Saturday, November 22, 2008 5:16:37 PM

Fanny has no banner & some peoples avatars keep going away and coming back.

KittyliciousZaphira Saturday, November 22, 2008 6:18:59 PM

I have a similar problem on Moe's blog - it's just the comments section that acts weird there.

theoddbod Saturday, November 22, 2008 7:47:27 PM

Yes, the avatars and some images are acting odd.

Dacotah Saturday, November 22, 2008 7:51:57 PM

I have had to upload my avatar a few times now. Don't know how long it will last.

theoddbod Saturday, November 22, 2008 8:25:04 PM

I don't think the avatars are vanishing, it's more that sometimes they're not loading. A refresh is almost always bringing them back for me.

Dacotah Saturday, November 22, 2008 8:28:28 PM

Not for me. sad

theoddbod Saturday, November 22, 2008 9:05:20 PM

Just little white rectangles?

Dacotah Saturday, November 22, 2008 9:08:21 PM

Yep with the username sometimes. Look at Mik's recent visitors, there are soem avatars missing there too.
I can't see my avatar on Fanny's blog when I can see my elsewhere, not even the white rctangle. Oh on one more blog too.

Dacotah Saturday, November 22, 2008 9:10:10 PM

Mine and Cois's are missing. Even though I can see his and mine on the comment section.

theoddbod Saturday, November 22, 2008 9:22:32 PM

For me, yours, rose-marie's and Zaphira's are missing right now.

Dark FurieFurie Saturday, November 22, 2008 9:44:29 PM

Could it be that finally the mobile bloggers are the ones having an easy time of it? All CSS is perfect, all avatars are present.

Is it just this post on my page that's affected by the strange banner thing? And is the one on Clint's page one that starts with just an image and no text?

Dark FurieFurie Saturday, November 22, 2008 9:47:52 PM

How does it look now? bigsmile

theoddbod Saturday, November 22, 2008 9:59:47 PM

Well, a lot of the time on PC the pages don't seem to finish loading all the avatars. This is only affecting blogs, though - the forums seem fine.
As as Mini is concerned, it seems that the Mobile view hides the Profile pics in the sidebar and consequently hides the Status. But it's obviously not bothered by the resizing/clipping issues I'm seeing on PC.

It looks the same as before, by the way. Did you change something in hope?

Dark FurieFurie Saturday, November 22, 2008 10:02:25 PM

I added text to the post at the top as that has fixed the problem before. Is it just this post or not?

theoddbod Saturday, November 22, 2008 10:18:59 PM

No, it's the whole blog including the main page. I've also checked a few text-only posts and they're the same.

Moesring Saturday, November 22, 2008 10:19:05 PM

I see the same problems as Dacotah because I also use Opera. awww

pssst Zaphira: I noticed the comments problem on my blog yesterday. I can't think of what is causing it - it does not appear in Opera - but I know mine is the only blog I can find with it so it must be my fault somehow. down

Dacotah Saturday, November 22, 2008 10:37:16 PM

"HTML tweaks

While adding new features and improving old ones, we had to tweak the HTML code a bit. Please check your CSS if you have any. Small changes have been made to "friends", "latest visitors" and "latest comments". Some more changes has also been made to the photo albums section and the top menu is now placed inside the #wrap3 div (on most designs). Feel free to ask any questions about this."

That's what it said on the update.

Dark FurieFurie Saturday, November 22, 2008 10:52:27 PM

None of which should affect my design. I had a similar problem when creating it, and it was down to moving the menu. Soon sorted it out, but I don't know what could have caused this.

I've checked on all my mobile browsers and can't replicate the problem. Opera Mini uses the same rendering agent as Opera Desktop so it should show up there, but it doesn't. irked Would you guys be willing to give me some screenshots while I run a few changes for a minute or two?

Dark FurieFurie Saturday, November 22, 2008 11:04:51 PM

Anyone tell me how it's looking now?

Dacotah Saturday, November 22, 2008 11:12:59 PM

Using the Opera browser this is what it looks like now:

Dacotah Saturday, November 22, 2008 11:16:01 PM

In IE:

Dark FurieFurie Saturday, November 22, 2008 11:21:27 PM

Okay, how about now?

Dark FurieFurie Saturday, November 22, 2008 11:23:55 PM

Really wish someone had noticed this earlier in the week. I've got 39 minutes of web access left to sort it out with. scared

Dark FurieFurie Saturday, November 22, 2008 11:31:59 PM

If this ain't fixed it, I don't know what will... sad

Dacotah Sunday, November 23, 2008 12:28:08 AM

In Opera:

Dacotah Sunday, November 23, 2008 12:29:43 AM

in IE

Dark FurieFurie Sunday, November 23, 2008 12:31:20 AM

Fixed it, finally. bigsmile

Cleanclean Sunday, November 23, 2008 1:06:26 AM

Umm ...

Regarding your asking me to get on my knees ...

... I thought you might have wanted me to do a spot of gardening! lol

Dacotah Sunday, November 23, 2008 1:15:12 AM

I took a screenshot at 80%:

Dacotah Sunday, November 23, 2008 1:17:04 AM
