Feel the need to pray but can't find a church (obviously forgetting the God is everywhere belief), then drop in to your nearest prayer booth. You gotta wonder if prayers from different religions will reach their God if sent via one of these things.

Moesring 22. November 2008, 11:52

:eyes:

First of all, is it real?

Cois 22. November 2008, 11:57

 that is so uhm... Desperate?

The Dark Furie 22. November 2008, 12:22

Far as I can tell, it's real. It's an art project designed to spark a dialogue about religion. It's in New York of all places, where it's likely to spark a dialogue about mugging.

The Dark Furie 22. November 2008, 12:27

I just linked to the Daily Mail. :yuck:

Moesring 22. November 2008, 12:39

If it is an art project, then it does not really qualify as "real" to me. To me, that makes it no more than an elaborate hoax.

The Dark Furie 22. November 2008, 12:52

When people start using it for it's described purpose it becomes real. And people have been dropping to their knees and praying.

It's the "start a dialogue about religion" thing that makes me laugh. Obviously this artist is very perceptive to see that what this world needs is more discussion about religion. We don't do that enough...

What a cool idea...

Carol 22. November 2008, 13:08

That has to be the oddest thing I have ever seen.

Carol 22. November 2008, 13:09

Mik, what's wrong with your post? It's just like Cois's, there is alot of room from the top of the page to the beginning of the post.

Carol 22. November 2008, 13:11

Kitty 22. November 2008, 13:37

What a weird box!

And the post looks normal to me - I don't see blank space over it.

Carol 22. November 2008, 14:04

Zaphira, that one was taken using the Opera browser. This one is with the IE browser:

With the IE browser the beginning of the post is ok but the banner isn't. Odd.

r♡se 22. November 2008, 14:39

Interesting that they need specific prayer booth instructions...

Kitty 22. November 2008, 14:53

It looks normal in Firefox, Carol. Like this:

Carol 22. November 2008, 15:41

That's good it looks good in FireFox.

The Dark Furie 22. November 2008, 16:00

Clear your cache and try it again Carol. It's possible that the old version of Opera in there isn't working with the new one.

Carol 22. November 2008, 17:00

I tried that Mik and tried F5 too, it's still there. Other blogs are fine, just yours and Cois's are doing this. I dunno. :frown:

theoddbod 22. November 2008, 17:13

I see exactly the same thing, cache and everything cleared.

Carol 22. November 2008, 17:16

Fanny has no banner & some peoples avatars keep going away and coming back.

Kitty 22. November 2008, 18:18

I have a similar problem on Moe's blog - it's just the comments section that acts weird there.

theoddbod 22. November 2008, 19:47

Yes, the avatars and some images are acting odd.

Carol 22. November 2008, 19:51

I have had to upload my avatar a few times now. Don't know how long it will last.

theoddbod 22. November 2008, 20:25

I don't think the avatars are vanishing, it's more that sometimes they're not loading. A refresh is almost always bringing them back for me.

Carol 22. November 2008, 20:28

Not for me. :frown:

theoddbod 22. November 2008, 21:05

Just little white rectangles?

Carol 22. November 2008, 21:08

Yep with the username sometimes. Look at Mik's recent visitors, there are soem avatars missing there too.
I can't see my avatar on Fanny's blog when I can see my elsewhere, not even the white rctangle. Oh on one more blog too.

Carol 22. November 2008, 21:10

Mine and Cois's are missing. Even though I can see his and mine on the comment section.

theoddbod 22. November 2008, 21:22

For me, yours, rose-marie's and Zaphira's are missing right now.

The Dark Furie 22. November 2008, 21:44

Could it be that finally the mobile bloggers are the ones having an easy time of it? All CSS is perfect, all avatars are present.

Is it just this post on my page that's affected by the strange banner thing? And is the one on Clint's page one that starts with just an image and no text?

The Dark Furie 22. November 2008, 21:47

How does it look now? :D

theoddbod 22. November 2008, 21:59

Well, a lot of the time on PC the pages don't seem to finish loading all the avatars. This is only affecting blogs, though - the forums seem fine.
As as Mini is concerned, it seems that the Mobile view hides the Profile pics in the sidebar and consequently hides the Status. But it's obviously not bothered by the resizing/clipping issues I'm seeing on PC.

It looks the same as before, by the way. Did you change something in hope?

The Dark Furie 22. November 2008, 22:02

I added text to the post at the top as that has fixed the problem before. Is it just this post or not?

theoddbod 22. November 2008, 22:18

No, it's the whole blog including the main page. I've also checked a few text-only posts and they're the same.

Moesring 22. November 2008, 22:19

I see the same problems as Dacotah because I also use Opera. awww

:sst: Zaphira: I noticed the comments problem on my blog yesterday. I can't think of what is causing it - it does not appear in Opera - but I know mine is the only blog I can find with it so it must be my fault somehow.

Carol 22. November 2008, 22:37

"HTML tweaks

While adding new features and improving old ones, we had to tweak the HTML code a bit. Please check your CSS if you have any. Small changes have been made to "friends", "latest visitors" and "latest comments". Some more changes has also been made to the photo albums section and the top menu is now placed inside the #wrap3 div (on most designs). Feel free to ask any questions about this."

That's what it said on the update.

The Dark Furie 22. November 2008, 22:52

None of which should affect my design. I had a similar problem when creating it, and it was down to moving the menu. Soon sorted it out, but I don't know what could have caused this.

I've checked on all my mobile browsers and can't replicate the problem. Opera Mini uses the same rendering agent as Opera Desktop so it should show up there, but it doesn't. :irked: Would you guys be willing to give me some screenshots while I run a few changes for a minute or two?

The Dark Furie 22. November 2008, 23:04

Anyone tell me how it's looking now?

Carol 22. November 2008, 23:12

Using the Opera browser this is what it looks like now:

Carol 22. November 2008, 23:16

In IE:

The Dark Furie 22. November 2008, 23:21

Okay, how about now?

The Dark Furie 22. November 2008, 23:23

Really wish someone had noticed this earlier in the week. I've got 39 minutes of web access left to sort it out with. :insane:

The Dark Furie 22. November 2008, 23:31

If this ain't fixed it, I don't know what will... :frown:

Carol 23. November 2008, 00:28

In Opera:

Carol 23. November 2008, 00:29

in IE

The Dark Furie 23. November 2008, 00:31

Fixed it, finally. :D

David Scott Aubrey 23. November 2008, 01:06

Umm ...

Regarding your asking me to get on my knees ...

... I thought you might have wanted me to do a spot of gardening!

Carol 23. November 2008, 01:15

I took a screenshot at 80%:
