How To Report Opera Community Problems

General Bugs
So, the problem you're having isn't down to someone else causing trouble, and you've actually discovered a bug on the site. What do you do? Well, first thing to do is to replicate the bug. Go through step by step what happened and take notes on that. Then head to this forum post and report the bug. You'll have to tell them how the bug manifests and how to replicate it themselves. They'll start checking it and may contact you for further details at some point.
Most problems fall into one of the following three categories.
Blogs And Albums
The most common of these are blogs that are set up just to sell a product or promote another web site. Most people wont really have a problem with these, but there are other types that fit this style. A while back I came across a woman who had posted nude photos of herself in her blog and albums and was using this place to get herself a date. As this is against both the terms and conditions of this website as well as against common decency I reported her under this heading. And, of course, we all know that child pornography blogs and albums should be reported under this heading. While I hope that no-one ever comes across anything like that, if you do you should know how to handle it.
Go to this forum thread to report the matter. In your comment on the thread you should include the member's username, a link to their page (preferably a link to the illegal/offensive content) and a quick description why you're reporting it - "porn", "spam", etc.
A Note On Generally Abusive Members
Abusive comments to you should be deleted and you should block the person that posted it. Don't get yourself into an argument with the person. Deny them a voice on your page as punishment. If they continue abusing you on other people's pages then contact that page owner with your concerns. Let them show themselves up and eventually people with sense will block them too. Anyone that doesn't isn't really worth having as a friend.
If someone carries out a sustained attack on you then you can report them to an admin via private message, preferably with links to the places that attack was carried out. If you haven't retaliated then the person stands a much better chance of being banned.
There are many types of comments that can cause us problems. I've included a note about abusive comments on the side as this section doesn't really cover them. This is about the sort of comments that are only designed to forward another's interests at your expense. Comment spam includes people trying to sell things, comments directing you to another site just to get visits, comments that try to trick you into revealing your e-mail address to spammers and, of course, flooders. While normally nothing more than an annoyance (not counting flooders, who should burn in the deepest pits of hell) these comments need to be gotten rid of or the site will go downhill rapidly.
Go to this forum thread to report these sorts of comments. In your post there you should include a link to the member's page, a link to the offensive comment, and why you've reported that particular comment. If you can't link to the comment, link to the post that the comment is on and specify that you've done so.
Private Messages
There are so many different forms of private message problem yet they all come down to one problem. Someone messaging you in a way you don't like. They might be flooding your inbox. They might be sending you sexual messages. Any of the problems from the previous sections can be regarded as private message spam and should be reported as detailed below.
Go to this forum thread to report private message spam. In your report you should include a link to the page of the person spamming you, the date or dates that the messages were sent (which should make it easier for admin to check), and what sort of message you're reporting - "flooding", "sexual messages", "offensive messages", etc.
The admin on this site monitor these forum threads regularly and will deal with the problem as soon as possible. As they're busy they may not always comment on the problem or let you know that it has been dealt with and a lot of people have a problem with that, but personally I'd prefer to have effective admin rather than communicative admin. Wouldn't you? Hopefully this post will help more people to report their problems on this community, and make this place run smoother for all of us.

I know it is selfish of me but now I have a well-written post I can refer people to when I receive PMs asking the correct procedure to report various people (which has happened quite a few times).

Links being bolded and underlined are more than enough for me to find them

I think the mods (at least Haavard) doesn't want much info in the reports... Links to the user is about all he wants.

Still got to clean this up though. According to the post time and the time I had the idea for the post I put it together in three minutes. A record for me. One thing that really needs adding is the "Don't paste the entire message into the thread" warning.

I've never been asked to give additional information. Of course, I've only reported PM's and comment spam.

One additional thing I like to specify is if something seems like a bug but might not be. It gives them a chance to make a fair assessment of things before just banning someone.
Also, marking something as child porn gets it destroyed quicker as people are likely to hunt down a mod they're friends with and inform them about it still being active.

Perhaps something about the Shoutbox?

It's a project for anyone looking to be useful though.
