Relient K (Album)

I think that it's pretty obvious that I love Relient K. In my opinion, they are the best band ever formed. So I decided to write a review on their latest album, and I have two reasons why:
- I can't sleep.
- I have wanted to review some music albums.
So here we go. I am going to be doing a series of reviews, track by track, of all of Relient K's albums.
Read more for their first one, Relient K
First Track: Hello McFly
This song is about the inability to change ones past, much like the movie Back to the Future, which is where the song gets it's name (Marty McFly is the protaganist of the movies). This song has always made me laugh simply because it mentions Michael J. Fox, who is a great actor, and the use of Whao-whao's. Excellent song. At the end, Toby McKeehan (head of Gotee Records) leaves Matthew Thiessen (RK's lead singer) stating that a song about Marilyn Manson will 'never, EVER, be on a CD put out by Gotee Records. PERIOD.' Which leads us into the second track.
Second Track: My Girlfriend
This one has and always be a favorite. It talks about how Marilyn Manson's music warped the singers mind so much that, being the good Christian that he is, he cannot date her anymore if he wishes to be a good believer. The hilarious video can be found here.
Third Track: Wake Up Call
This one is about a slacker who has lost his job, and recieved a wake up call from Jesus, telling him to get his act together. The use of acoustic guitar and drums draws me in and keeps me listening. (They also use (Wha-a-o, Wha-a-o's here too.
) Wake Up Call transitions seamlessly into:Fourth Track: Benediction
This one is pretty short, just repeating 'Almost missed the bus, but Jesus gave me a wake up call' over and over. but the guitar sounds excellent, so what it lacks in lyrics it makes up for with sound.
Fifth Track: When You're Around
Calling out to Jesus letting Him know that when He is around, the singer has a much better life and can't describe how Jesus makes him feel. Awesome use of the hi-hat on the drums!
Sixth Track: Softer To Me
This one will always and forever be one of my favorite songs of all time. Asking life to be easier on him, he is saying that although it sounds selfish, Christ died for him, so give him a break. Amazing use of the drums, guitar, and Theissen's voice, this song blows me away.
Seveth Track: Charles in Charge
Who remembers the TV show, Charles in Charge? Well, this is a cover of the theme song. Sounding much better than the original one, it makes you wish you had a young doctor living below you. Also has a killer guitar solo.

Eighth Track: Staples
About someone who hit a pole when going to fast, nearly hitting a tree, and having to go to the emergency room, getting (guess what) Staples. It is most hilarious when they make the 'stapling' noise.
Ninth Track: anchorage
A 20 second long instrumental piece that there isn't much to say about.
Tenth Track: 17 Magazine
Saying how, according to his siter's copy of 17 Magazine, he is in love. Nice mockery of teenage magazines.
Eleventh Track: Balloon Ride
When under stress, the singer takes a mental 'balloon ride' and can see everything from up there. Now that he can see everything clearly, he is pleased with his trip.
Twelfth Track: Everything Will Be
Commenting on how Jesus let's him now that everything will be just fine. Interesting vocal work.
Thirteenth Track: Nancy Drew
About being in love with Nancy Drew, and being confused as to why she is denying his advances, because no one has before.
Fourteenth Track: K Car
With the name taken from the car that started it all, this song is simply about how much better the K Car is than all the rest out there.
And that's it. Not much for a review, mainly a break down of each track. but I hope this has gotten at least one of you to go check out Relient K. Look for the next one, about their album The Anatomy of the Tongue In Cheek, which is what I was first introduced to Relient K with.
