So, this is the New Year

And I don't feel any different. So why doesn't everybody put their best suit (or dress) on, and we will make believe that we are wealthy for just this once. We'll light firecrackers off on the front lawn, as thirty dialogues bleed into one.

The above text is, of course, a reference to the wonderful Death Cab For Cutie song The New Year. It is off of their amazing album Transatlanticism - I encourage you to go check it out.

But let's move on to the rest of this post. It is now 2009, and it is to be a big year for me. I turn 18, finish up highschool, and might even be taking some trips. Most people like to start off New Years with a list of resolutions, and I was never any different. Actually, they were, because for the past five years (or so) my one and only resolution has been to gain weight. I have succeeded in that, and I can proudly say that I now way somewhere between 135 and 140lbs(61-63 kgs - it fluctuates).

This year though, I've decided to to some real resolutions.

For starters, I would like to take at least one photo everyday. This will most likely be of myself, in an effort to see how much I change in a year. I've always liked the idea, and loved the videos that people make out of their photos, so I figured I'd try it out.

Second, I want to comment more on blog entries. I definitely suck at this. I read so many (oh, so many) blog posts a day, but never ever comment. I post maybe, one comment a month. I know! That's terrible! But hopefully I can do it more often and be cool like that.

Third, get 1000 followers on Twitter. I am currently at 310, and am pretty confident that I can reach the 1000 mark before the end of 2009. Plus, who wouldn't want to follow me? I'm totally boss. Everybody says it. (okay, maybe no one but me says it. But that's still one person.)

So that's it. Those are my three resolutions for 2009. What are yours? Leave them in the comments.

I'm going to follow you on twitter. Also, I had my music collection playing at random on the morn of January 1st. Coincidentally, the song you quoted came on my media player. Amazing timing.

It's a great song in of itself, but playing it on January 1st just feels so sweet.
