Ann and Jeff VanderMeer prepared and edited another important anthology. This time it is The Weird: A Compendium of Dark and Strange Stories. It will be a 800+ page trade paperback, announced for mid-October 2011 publication. It contains more than 750,000 words in one volume, 110 stories from 20 nationalities, covers the hundred years of weird fiction, presents writers from Robert Aickman to T. M. Wright. A foreword by Michael Moorcock, introduction by Ann and Jeff VanderMeer, and an afterword by China Miéville. The table of contents looks awesome, you can find there almost every writer you can think of from this genre. There are even stories by Michal Ajvaz and Reza Negarestani. A treasury.
