I have (and have read) 6 of these 9, missing numbers 1, 3 (ouch!) and 8.

Alas I didn't hear the radio version of Hitchhiker's GTTG. I saw the film, once, and fell asleep. Neuromancer is really a fine novel, a mixture of SF and hard-boiled mystery style. You can skip the Hofstadter tome, to fully understand all of it, you'd need to have a very good background in mathematics, logic, mathematical logic and linguistics. Ender's Game and Snow Crash can be considered as classics of SF.
