Movies and Boomerangs

,

There are not many movies where a boomerang plays a role.
In fact, I know only two.
The first is Bagdad Café (1987) directed by Percy Adlon with an unforgetable athmospheric violet clouds dusk scene of boomerang throwing and distinctive hiss of its flight. It reminds me, somehow, of a night park scene and the sound of the wind in Antonioni's Blow-up, as well as of the wind in the high grass and reeds in Onibaba (1964), a black-and-white classic directed by Kaneto Shindô.
The second is Delicatessen (1991) by my favorite French directors, Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Marc Caro. It's one of the last scenes, taken in the collapsed bathroom, where the throw of the Australian (knife) has its grotesque and deadly results.

Wasn't there a boomerang in one of the Mad Max movies? The second one I think. There was that wild kid with a special glove for it and he was rather deadly, too.
Dunno if that counts, though. I think it wasn't a classic boomerang :ko:

You might, or probably are right. Jeez, I'm trying very hard to recollect the movie, which I had seen many times but a long time ago... Yes, it counts:)! Thanks for the info.
