About me

In 2002 I lost my job at the Ritz Carlton in Phoenix for almost blowing up the hotel. When I lost my job the money was gone the condo was gone so the girlfriend left. I moved in with my brother collecting unemployment getting drunk and picking up women in MSN chat rooms. I found myself in a Northern Ireland chat room when this Dublin bird starts chatting me up. After her calling me and emailing me she suggests I should come to Ireland. That sounded like a great Idea to me. So I went an enrolled in college took out a student loan to by a plane ticket and got a passport. 2 weeks before I’m supposed to leave she is nowhere to be found and of course I didn’t save any of the $3000 to go to Ireland because I figured it would work itself out. So 5 days before my plane leaves she gets a hold of me proceeding to tell me I better not come to Ireland because I can’t count on her to be there and I will have nowhere to stay. So as most would do with $400 in their pocket and a return plane ticket back in 30 days I got on the plane. I had 2 days in London before Dublin and again as most people would do I went on a piss-up in London and spent half my money. The next morning discretion got the better of me so I figured I should go hang out in the airport till my plane leaves and at least make it to Dublin. After seeing the sites a bit I found myself in Victoria station around noon as most people would do I picked a nice spot to sit and got locked on tall cans of Carling. About midnight I changed all my sterling to euros and stumbled my way upon the train to the airport. I sat down and your man sitting next to me advised not to pass out because it was the last train and I couldn’t catch one back. I assured him not to worry the situation was well in hand. Of course 3 hours later I awoke to my utter lack of surprise in the middle of God knows where south England. If you Google map it you’d have a better understanding of what I’m talking about. So I disembarked the train my bags in hand but to my delight in the distance a beckon of hope shined in the winter England moonlight. A sign with a picture of an airplane an arrow, pointing in a direction towards the distance. So as most people would I proceeded to follow that glimmer of hope. As I made my way through a sleepy little village as just by chance the heavens opened as I never have seen before. A proper winter English downpour. So as most people would I seek shelter beneath a bus stop and proceeded to pray to our Lord. If only just this once you lead me to salvation no more strippers, truck drivers, or biker chicks I swear when I get to Dublin I’ll go to mass. So I proceeded to make it to the motor way when an auto from nowhere nearly hit me. A taxi man and he pulled over to the side of the roundabout a few meters in front of me. I approached an explained how I had no sterling to pay him since I had changed my sterling to euros.” He said get in I’ll take you to the airport its 50 miles away and I’m going there myself.” We pulled to rail stop where he explained it was as far as he was heading, get on the train don’t worry about paying for a ticket 1st stop is the airport. I got to the airport 7am flight leaves at 10 so I had a pint of Guinness and relaxed. I landed in Dublin and as I promised I went to mass. I even took my new South African rent a friend just as good measure to show God I was great full for the help. Lovely Mass and it just so happened the Cardinal of Dublin was there to administer it. No money, no job, and no place to live I went to Dublin ended up living there for a year and a half. Guess if you really want to describe me you’d say….im not most people.
