Favourite film: Betty Blue

The film charts the descent from mild eccentricity to full-blown insanity of the eponymous Betty, who despairs of getting her lover Zorgs writings published, and her inability to conceive. Whilst the subject matter is obviously tragic, the mood is lightened by many fine comic moments, notably the 'tequila rapido' evening. It adopts a typically Gallic indifference to casual nudity, so the more sensitive may wish to avoid. Highly recommended.
