About me

About me... Tough one.

I never felt comfortable writing these little boxes 'About me'. How does anyone write one without engaging in a severe case of self promotion? Oh well, I guess I could start with the basics...

My name is Jamie, -i-e, and I am a recently 21 year old University student. I live on the beach in Currimundi on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, Australia and I am studying a Bachelor of Mass Communication at QUT. If all goes well I expect to graduate by March next year.

When not studying, or working, I like to play the Playstation 3, hang out with friends, and go to the movies. You know - the usual stuff. I am a passionate Rugby League fan, and even more passionate about my team, the Newcastle Knights, who represent my birth town Newcastle. Once a Knight, always a Knight.

I enjoy comedy most, but I am a closet romantic, and don't mind to go and see an ol' tear jerker every once in a while.

And that is pretty much me. Well, enough of me I feel comfortable spreading on the internet ;)

My work

For the past 5 months I have been working as an intern at Virgin Blue airlines in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. My role is the Brand and Product Specialist.

Basically my internship is based around me assisting and acting as a consultant for new Product Development and the relationship between Product and Brand. Over the past five months I have been involved in the Virgin Blue (and Pacific Blue) Check-in Kiosk "welcome" screen, and inputed other design work across various bodies of work.

I hope to one day gain full-time employment at Virgin Blue.
