So I used to use Opera's built-in bookmarks to store my "check-daily" bookmarks, one folder per day, and would "Open all folder items" each day, in the corresponding folder, to view them. But whenever I was away from my computer, I wouldn't have access to them.
Del.icio.us seemed the obvious answer, but lacked the "open all in tabs" functionality. So I looked to Opera's widgets. I found a hideous del.icio.us widget that didn't do what I wanted, and a "mini" del.icio.us widget that didn't do what I wanted.
Obvious solution: Write my own. So I did. It works for me, and I'm glad if it works for other people, too.
Imagine my surprise to find my widget, not even a day old, in the first spot on the front page of opera.widgets.com, in the company of official and unofficial widgets with multiple hundreds of thousands of downloads. There's eight spots, and my widget is in the first one? I'm flattered and honored, and seriously hope I live up to that honor.
Which is why I started this blog: I'm happy, and figure there may be someone else on the vast series of tubes that cares. So here you are, Mr./Ms. Caring-Person.
To the rest of you: May you reap many benefits and much enjoyment from the widget.
