The Begining of a new world of Odessa

Goldbug begins

RAILROAD BY MAURICE GIBB - 1970

What a Gem, this is a beautiful song!

Maurice Gibb doing his SWAMP THING during the begining of the 1970's. Maurice's solo album was shelved when the BeeGees got back together that year and recorded 2 Years On which spawned Lonely Days. I love Railroad because it is a basic country song but Maurice made it look so easy and check out the chorus - the harmony is amazing, so pure. It is true to say commercially Country music wasn't the Brother's Gibb's best selling stuff, ironically NOT until the Gibb penned Islands in the Stream became the biggest selling country song in history during the 1980's. Maurice was the COOL BeeGee, being the technical genius of the three Brothers, but he was also a fantastic singer who gets overlooked.

ELTON "LONG" JOHNBattlestar Galactica Series 4 - the begining of the end?

I hate the BeeGees, and "Islands in the Stream", but Maurice has written some pretty cool stuff! :D

The BeeGees are great and probably are the greatest singer/songwriters of all time, I started a Joke alone justifies that statement....

I've got a parody of that somewhere...
The BeeGees, and Disco are the reason I started listening to country music in the first place!
I put the BeeGees in the same league with Paul McCartney, I've never liked what was popular just because it was popular...

Do you have a link to an audio file of that piece? I can't seem to find it. ( I'm a phonie. :left: )
Oh, by the way,  A belated Welcome to Opera! :D

I was only 4 when I started listening to the BeeGees and really got into buying their records when it was not so cool to do so in 1990! So I was in great shock when in 1997 it became cool to like them as I had liked them when they were not cool! What track r you looking for? Thanks for the Opera welcome and say hi to my matey Bitey!

You can find Railroad on the Tales of the Brother's Gibb collection from 1991. No I am older I meant IT WAS 1990 when it all started to come together I had listened to the BeeGees as a small child in the late 1970's. I think Maurice actually re-recorded Railroad in the early 1980s as a different sounding track. Bitey is GrantTLC I would recommend his site.....

<compilation>
(1990) I'm packing my bags and going home.
I been here too long.
So happy, I'll get there on my own.
Been here for reasons right or wrong.
So I'm packing my bag and I'm getting home.

So I'll walk by the railroad anytime, anytime.
Walk by the railroad anytime.
Tell my brother and my sister that everything's gone wrong.
But I'm walking by that railroad till I'm home.

There's been lies told in my story.
But ain't juiced none of that glory.
But still, I served my time.
And there's no use in crying
'cause I'm walking by that railroad till I'm home.

So I'll walk by the railroad anytime, anytime.
Walk by the railroad anytime.
Tell my woman that I missed her.
That I can't wait to kiss her
So I'm walking by that railroad till I'm home.

Yes I'll walk by the railroad anytime, anytime.
Walk by the railroad anytime.
Tell my woman that I missed her.
And I can't wait to kiss her
'cause I'm walking by that railroad till I'm home.
Yes I'm walking by that railroad till I'm home.
