UNFORGIVEN 1992
I was in the mood for a Mogan Freeman film today and after a quick visit to HMV I returned home with Unforgiven from 1992!
THE PLOT
The town of Big Whisky is full of normal people trying to lead quiet lives. Cowboys try to make a living. Sheriff 'Little Bill' tries to build a house and keep a heavy-handed order. The town whores just try to get by.Then a couple of cowboys cut up a whore. Unsatisfied with Bill's justice, the prostitutes put a bounty on the cowboys. The bounty attracts a young gun billing himself as 'The Schofield Kid', and aging killer William Munny. Munny reformed for his young wife, and has been raising crops and two children in peace. But his wife is gone. Farm life is hard. And Munny is no good at it. So he calls his old partner Ned, saddles his ornery nag, and rides off to kill one more time, blurring the lines between heroism and villainy, man and myth.
THE VERDICT
This is a stunning movie beatifully directed by the master Clint Eastwood. The scenery is well shot with Cinematography by Jack N. Green and this is a VERY hard hitting take on the traditional Western (Which Eastwood made his name in during the 1950's and 1960's) and the reality of killing! Eastwood's performance is brilliant and Gene Hackman who won best supporting Oscar Award for this film is "One mean son of a bitch" A brilliant supporting cast also from Morgan Freeman and Richard Harris! Jaimz Woolvett as The Schofield Kid is pretty good and a fascinating young character, watch this character development and shows the brilliant Direction from Eastwood..
The end of the movie is tense and in some ways to give it away would be wrong as you have to see it unfold for yourself.

Great scene and proof if any that hiring an agent of chaos is a bad idea, tends to lead to more chaos!
Time I bought some more Clint Eastwood films as having recently discovered the Assasination of Jessie James my Childhood love for Westerns has returned. I do have the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly in my DVD collection.
