Blue Chamber

A Place for Dreaming

1st of April?...oh no

I'm sorry, folks, I don't know what's wrong with me today but I just can't get into the spirit of the global April Fool's wackiness...possibly, ahem, because I've already been caught out by the (hopefully temporary) change to all our avatars here on Opera. I was just boiling a nice kettle of outrage when the significance of today's date popped into my head, grinning smugly...Homer: Doh!

Oh, and they've also supposedly banned a user for over-using smileys and helping people too much.

[UPDATE] Hah! Now Opera's Desktop Team have reported a score of 106/106 in Acid3! Take that, Safari! :D

Ok, ok, I guess it is kinda funny in a certain light, but having been caught out once already I'm now scared to go anywhere on the internet for fear of running smack-bang into more of the madness. Gullibility like mine really shouldn't be encouraged!

However, at least I wasn't suckered into believing this astonishingly professional video like one of my colleagues...

Beautifully made by the BBC, apparently, and introduced by an ex-Monty Python-er, Terry Jones. Bit of a clue there, Stuart....!

You have a bigger belly! I hate my tail.

Yeah...but who's going to make fun of a tiger! Rarrrr! And it's just typical for me to spend three months losing weight only for Opera to make me a gigantic-bellied Rhino!

I have just found out that a tight-ass who has infuriated me in the past now look exactly like me. It's so disheartening. You look more empathetic than ever. That is why I am telling you this.

Don't worry, hon, I'm sure it's only temporary. You really hate those tight-asses, don't you?

Looking like a Rhino makes me more empathetic? I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to say?

You look so kind and benevolent. And you look like you have acquired your own gravitational field and I can hold onto you anytime.

Heh, holding onto is what us kind, benevolent Rhino's are for.

Guess I won't be your dad's solemn spokesperson today, eh? He's quite taken aback by how you and I look. Again "Bloody hell!" was all he said.

He says that a lot. Pay no attention and he will tire of it eventually.

But I see what you mean; Tigers aren't often found cuddling Rhino's. Must look pretty strange to some folk...:left:

:eyes: But we haven't done anything like that. We've yet to check if you have firm knees. Don't want to collapse together.

Don't want to collapse together

No we don't! I could crush you with my rhino body! Or...or step on your tail! :eyes:

I think my knees are firm enough, though, particularly now that I have four of them...P:

I don't want you to hurt your nose, either.

I think my knees are firm enough...

You are right. I forgot that you have four knees! I could see only two from across the pond.

across the pond

I love that phrase. It brings to mind a picture of ducks swimming peacefully in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean across silver waves 50ft high...

Yes, we really are a hop, skip and an jump away from each other, aren't we? Just 3'000 miles or so, give or take a few hundred.

That's part of the reason why I find your dad's ship fascinating.

Hmm. Flying would be quicker and less likely to make you sea-sick...but then again, why come to Scotland? It's cold and damp 9/10ths of the year round - I'm sure Canada is MUCH more pleasant.

Is Rhino still there? The Tiger was too tired on April Fool Day to answer Rhino's question. She wasn't planning to cross the pond. She was in Scotland once. That was quite a story in her heyday. Someday, perhaps another April Fool Day, Rhino may get hear all about it.

Rhino has gone, Bitey stands proudly in its place, horns and all.

Hey hey, a story from the Heyday, eh? (sorry, couldn't resist) Pity I missed it. If we're both still around next April fools I'll be sure to ask.
