Worn With Pride!

As promised. smile

Here is the Kilt from the front, with my trusty Sporran ready to conceal the unsightly thrilling male 'bulge'. This Tartan is called 'Hunting Ross' which is my Grandfathers' name from my fathers' side of the family. But as my mothers' maiden name was Logan I could wear that tartan, too, and the Cruickshanks were a small clan under the mighty wing of the Stewarts, so I could wear any of the Stewart tartans as well. Spoiled for choice, really!

The kilt from the back, showing the carefully hand-stitched pleats (I kid you not about the hand-stitching - these things cost a fortune!)

And to complete the set here's my Sporran again, the belt replete with Ross clan badge, and my Sgian Dubh ("Black Knife" in scots gaelic) which gets tucked into my knee length woollen socks.

The whole outfit was bought for me in bits by my parents from my 18th birthday onwards and swiftly become one of my most treasured possessions. The sad and very frustrating fact nowadays is that I'm a little too overweight to fit into the Kilt, but rest assured this wll not be the case for very much longer!

Oh, and this is an exclusive post for O-community friends only, none of the usual drop-in riff-raff will be able to see it. Riff-raff, come on in and make yourself at home. happy

Whaddya think?

Best Cufflinks in the world :)Mr Bell, what did I ever do to you?

...And you do realise we Scotsmen are only 'true' Scots when we wear nothing beneath the Kilt, don't you? How cool are we now?

Of course. It's always the filthiest facts and harshest swear words that cross international and cultural boundaries first. Silly me for even asking. rolleyes

Wow! A green kilt! I'm sure you look magnificent wink Will you take a triumphant photo of yourself wearing it?

I am very impressed that you can get back into something you wore when you were 21! Not many people can do that! Is there an occasion coming up soon for which you need to wear your kilt?
