Changing Rooms

Sorry, kiddies, been too busy to write anything here. Had another date with Debbie, I've been attacking my house with paintbrushes - ably assisted by my parents and two amazingly compliant friends of mine - and spent the night with these two friends eating home-made chilli (I'm a great cook, if I do say so myself happy), drinking, and watching select episodes of Buffy and the truly dreadful Eurovision Song Contest (The only reason anyone in the UK watches it is to listen Terry Wogan's fantastically sarcastic commentary: no-one here gives a shit otherwise!). I now need a weekend to recover from my weekend!

I've taken lots of pictures of the decorating so I'll be back soon to bore you with them thrill you with the transformation! wink

**UPDATE**: I knew I hated Eurovision for a reason - Dr Who got bumped out of the schedules this week to make room for it! I have to wait a whole 'nother week for the next episode! cry

Junior daughter also threw a wobbly because of Dr Who being axed for the night,as far as the contest went I was pleasantly surprised that Finland,Iceland,Turkey and one other that forgot turned out some very good music. was not surprised but saddened that the regional block voting ignored the quality of their music and turned in a truly awful top 3.

Ah well the Stones Sympathy For The Devil is playing on Planet Rock so that reassures me that good music still prevails

Eurovision actually shocked me for how appallingly bad and how completely politically motivated the voting was. I'd known it was like this already but my god they don't even bother hiding it any more! Good songs were ignored in favour of voting for their chums - the Eastern bloc countries, the cute wee Nordic clique...and everyone voting for Russia I suspect out of utter fear (The Serbian entry was better by a country mile). There were some good songs - I quite liked the Greek entry, Britney-esque as it was - but you could tell that France and Spain just couldn't give a monkey's testicle about the whole affair. Although how Spain managed to garner nearly 60 points while the UK languished on 14 in joint last...

I think the current sentiment to pull out of the competition is a good one. Not least because this insipid tournament gets in the way of my Doctor Who!

oh that's bad about Dr Who. My dad wanted to call my sister and I Nissa and Tegan, after 2 characters from the old episodes of Dr Who. Unfortunately my mum chose our names sad

Eurovision was on until I turned it off bigsmile

GrantTLC Monday, May 26, 2008 1:50:55 PM

Bah! Your Mum really doesn't have a sense of humour, does she? If I ever have children, my first child will be named Megatron. I'm sure my first daughter will be overjoyed to have such an unusual and powerful name...bigsmile

Which one would you have rather been? I think Nyssa would have been the better choice, personally, but Tegan was an Aussie...are there actually any Australian girls/women named Tegan? Or is it like Beryl, old fashioned and not used any more? Come to think of it, is Tegan an actual name, or did the BBC make it up?

Your Dad rocks, by the way - he's obviously a fan of my favourite Doctor, Peter Davison! yes

I had no choice but to watch Eurovision. My two friends were both female and managed to out-vote me in my own house! They even took the remote control away! See if they get invited back again...irked

All I want to know who the heck is going to play Davros! I also hope he doesn't get any fecking updating he was fine as he was and they should stay faithfull to the 1970/80s on this one!

The Darkness is spreading - they have built that up brilliantly as Davros is the ultimate DR WHO villian! They better not kill him either!

I've heard David Bowie was touted to play Davros - WTF!

Where's my Indy 4 review you may well ask?

1 I'VE NAE HAD TIME TO WRITE IT

2 I'M ALSO GOING TO HAVE SEE IT A 2ND TIME TO MAKE UP MY MIND!

Anyway check out my next post it's more important but ironically ties in well with Indy 4

doh RIGHT - CLAPPING HANDS TOGETHER.....

I FINALLY AFTER A 22 YEAR WAIT HAVE WATCHED EPISODE 37 AND 38 OF THE MYSTERIOUS CITIES OF GOLD....Wow and wtf that the BBC deemed them too violent to show on CBBC at the time, although seeing the high Priest being wounded was pretty savage however you didn't see any blood. The thing that puzles me if the fact the BBC saw fit to miss such crucial episodes of the story out, i.e actually seeing the doors to the City of gold being openned...how appauling that I had to wait 22 years to see that!

The thing that interested me was the back story, the scene showing the people of Atlatis and Heva fighting each other with wonderful futuristic machines and flying crafts, (Trust me that scene alone justifies the £39.99 pice tag of the box set fucking hell it's got my imaginative juices bubbling!)the story goes that Atlatis was destoried and years later Heva was also consumed by the sea. It's amazing the BBC saw fit to miss this gem out to as it was explained in episode 37!doh

Anyway the 7 Cities of Gold are said to be spread all over the world not just in South America as I thought.

I think what gives the whole Heva story backbone is the fact the it would explain a lot, how some of the wonders of the world were created when it appears for the time the technology didn't exist. Take Machu Picchu, Peru for example the stone used to build the mountain fort does not come from the mountain itself so how the hell did it get there and not only that - check out the way the blocks are cut and fit into place, it doesn't make sense.

The point Im trying to make is maybe the Heva and Atlantis story isn't just some pish made up for a kids TV cartoon, maybe the truth is out there. The thing that worries me is that all civilizations have come to a sticky end, maybe ours will go the same way!rip rip rip rip rip rip rip monkey monkey monkey monkey doh bye cry cry cry lol lol doh rip
