Bits and Jims (Not Bobs, NEVER Bobs - Grrr)

Okay. It would take me pages and pages to describe in detail what has been happening over the last seven days so for the sake of your mental digestion I’ll try and compress it all into a sentence or two each. Maybe six.

Facebook. Still finding it a bit strange. Get poked occasionally but not sure what this signifies, if anything. Can be very quiet around there (but then it's a bit quiet round MyOpera, too - wha' happen? Everyone go on holidy???). Not much happening. So...is it just a glorified online address book with networking options?

Socialising. LOTS of socialising. Wednesday last week = Leaving Do for work-colleague. Friday = birthday party for our work database (it’s 2 years old!)(lol, we Scots like to invent reasons to go out drinking) Tonight = big management bash in nearby Stonehaven. After this, I’m giving up alcohol! Stuart and Craig at work are now known as Beavis and Butthead. Trust me, it fits.

Gaming. Debs bought me Mass Effect for PC, which has ‘rocked my world’. Epic space adventures don’t often land in my lap as shiny and wonderful as this one is. I’ve been hooked guiding my own character, Sarah Shepherd, and her intrepid crew around the galaxy fighting Geth and helping aliens and assorted human/alien colonies lead better lives, utter paragon that I am. When it finishes, I’m going to go back through it as a total bastard and see how the universe likes that. Also, I bought Mechwarrior 2, it’s expansion, MW2 Mercenaries, MW4, ITS expansion, and MW4 Mercenaries for pennies on eBay. God I love Mechwarrior games. DOSbox rules!

The Girlfriend. Yes, am still spending lots of time with Debbie, when she’s not gallivanting around the world. Saw her last Tuesday, invited her for a quick drink during the works birthday celebration on Friday (she came, was very friendly, made a great impression on everyone she spoke to) and also helped carry her luggage to train station on Sat morning (aww, ain’t I cute?) for the start of her week-long trip to visit her parents and brother. Missing her a little now. Only three days until she returns...

Decorating. Mum came over Sunday and helped paint skirtings (which I hate doing as they’re too near the carpets and I always make a mess of things, even with blankets and/or paper down) and brought new curtains for my lounge. Bless. Oh, and we picked a new bath for my tiny, bath-less bathroom! I will soon be able to sit in a heated tub of water filled with Radox and my own filth – woo hoo!
Wallpapering in hall next, yuck.

Work. Managed to get trainee away from my desk and my PC onto the machine that my colleague left behind – hurrah! Time to write blog entries again! Work pissing me off more and more, particularly that damned phone with it’s endless supply of troubled, dim-witted engineers. Suspect change may be needed soon or the killing will start again...

The Internet. Opera 9.5 was released! Firefox 3 is released today (supposedly – hasn’t happened at time of writing) Browsers are the talk of the Internet! Everyone is frothing at the keyboard! Hopefully now we can all get back to normal talking about things that really matter!!!

And that's it from me for today. Tune in next week when I'll be reporting on the dramatic rescue of a minky whale called Po-po, we'll be having a nostalgic look back at clothes we'd rather not remember, and there may be pictures of the fascinating evolutionary back-tracking Aberdeen's seagull population are currently undertaking as they strive to revert to their original Bastardraptor state.

Ciao!

The REAL Aberdeen!I live for moments like these

The Happening is the worst film I have seen this year and to put that in context even the morally bankrupted Rambo at least makes sense!lol

BG writes: The end of episode 10 of BG was awsome! They love their cliff hanger endings each season and series 4's mid term beak did not disappoint. :hat:

Shouldn't have mentioned your own filth in a tub of hot water. For one thing, your dad made a gruntal noise through his nose...

I have recently got a Facebook account and some of the things like poking are very confusing but the ability to socialise with friends you cannot meet up with is great
