Unreal Tournament 300!

,

ZOMG - I love the Internet! bigsmile

Some random genius somewhere has welded together two of my very favouritest things:

  • The first spectacular fight scene from Frank Miller's incredible historical fantasy, '300'
  • Music and in-play reward announcements from the first pc multiplay phenomenon, Unreal Tournament (released 1999)

The second example has no music, but upgrades to the beefier, more varied Unreal Tournament 3 announcements (released late 2007)

As growly-cool and uber-macho as these new sounds are, I prefer the first one. smile How about you?

Do you know, i don't think I've seen a better film since the Lord of the Rings ended it's run - it's amazing. Visual poetry. I get excited every time I know I'm going to watch it! Is that sad? p

300 was my favourite film of 2007 which was saying something because the Harry Potter film was also class! smile

I am expecting something "SPECIAL" from the Dark Knight. Early reviews have been very very positive. My pre Dark Knight build up starts very soon!cheers

I am planning to go and see the Dark Knight on the Friday 25th July 2008 and Grant if you are interested the more the merrier!bigsmile

Friday sounds good mate, if I'm not out that weekend with my new boss. I'll let you know nearer the time. Am looking forward to the film, though! up

I think booking a week in advance will be a very good idea as the opening weekend will be manic as I am expecting this to be a huge film! yikes

I've heard Belmont are having a come dressed as Batman evening but the screens are quite small and at least unlike Cineworld and Belmont the VUE will at least go some way to show off the IMAX scenes as best they can! faint

You've changed things... forever. There's no going back. See, to them, you're just a freak... like me!

Just signed to VUE to be notified when TDK tickets go on sale!

"WHY SO SERIOUS!"bigsmile

Alright, dude, you MIGHT wanna calm down a little: it's only a FILM. smile Probably a very good film but let's keep a level head, yeah?

Oh, and pls don't ruin it for me by throwing all the quotes at me! I'm purposefully not watching trailers or reading about it because surprise is a big part of the film-going experience for me. Just leave me be until I go see it. THEN we can go rave about it in a pub together, go home, then get on with our lives. wink

OdessaGoldBug Wednesday, July 9, 2008 6:01:37 PM

bigsmile bigsmile The interesting thing about the viral campaign for TDK is the fact that ok there might be a lot of it online but in terms of the film I have no ideal how it will pan out. Even how Two Face looks is a mistery and I think despite watching the trailers many times this film is going to be completely fresh. Batman Begins, the first time I saw it I didn't get it, but it took a few watches and then suddenly Nolan's masterpiece made sense! I am excited but you only live once and now and again something special comes alone and blows your fucking mind! Maybe in 30 years time we will talk about the vintage of 2008, the year a Superhero film because a proper serious film rather than just a money based franchise.....TRANSFORMERS, WELL THAT WAY BAY WASN'T IT, NOLAN ISN'T BAY, THANK FUCK!

OdessaGoldBug Wednesday, July 9, 2008 6:05:09 PM

I am on a TDK holiday at the moment and not watching any trailers...time now to sit back and let the 25th come in like a wave of vintage red wine!

I had to say I feared that Dark Knight would do so well mostly due to it being Heath Ledger's last film and while that might still play a significant part of its success...it actually just looks good.

THE WHITE KNIGHT writes: I think what Christopher Nolan has done is amazing, like Peter Jackson made LOTR his vision of the Tolken story I think Nolan has done the same with Batman. I can't wait to see his vision of TDK as Batman Begins was truly awsome, the best superhero film bar SUPERMAN and will TDK surpass even that. Bale looks awsome as Batman and what Ledger has done will the Joker we can only wait and see....roll on the 25th July!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D :wait: :coffee: :hat: :yikes:
