Still Mad at the Olympics

Yeah, THIS is the country that is hosting the Olympics this year:

The next person that tries to tell me about the 'Olympic Spirit' gets their own head to play with. And possibly their full set of internal organs. :furious:

8000 Weddings on 8/8/2008

Eight thousand weddings were scheduled to take place on the day of the Olympics, there is a lot of superstition about the eighth day, of the eighth month of the year two thousand and eight. Do you suspect that the Olympics committee set it there and decided that this would be a great day to start the Olympics or was it a mere coincidence?  :zip:

There's a movie http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1114277/ Up the Yangtze. It's a doco about the building of a dam in China and it has resulted in millions of people nto having a place to live anymore. These parents have to get their children to work in the tourist ships that go on the river, so they can survive. I saw it on a movie show but unfortunately I don't think it's showing in Adelaide (stupid adelaide!)

one of my friends saw this dam and said he wouldn't want to live downstream from it if it broke. You'd definately get your 2L of water per day!

I used to love when CH4 used to show the late night Japanese Godzilla movies from the 1970's, there was nothing better than seeing Godzilla kick MeccaGodzilla's arse!  Even suffering the badly done voiceovers were worth it for the rubber Godzilla suits, now I know what was wrong with the 1990's Hollywood remake, it was just to much like a Jurassic Park rip off! :ko:
