Staring at the Sun

Little Updates

Little updates for you today:

I'm meeting my friend, Eilidh, for drinks and possibly some food this coming wednesday after work. Looking forward to it; it's been several months since I last saw her, and that was only a brief meeting on the bus to work.

A new version of the script arrived in my Inbox today for this acting-drama thing I'm involved with/starring in. I'll give it a read through over the weekend. It's called 'Capsized', by the way. Still not looking forward to being dumped in the sea, but my acting bone has been singing lately (I was pretending to be Gaston from Disney's Beauty and the Beast this morning, singing and everything): I think I'll get back into some Am-dram when this is all over.

Also, I'm growing the beard again as the part I'm playing requires that I have one, dagnabbit. I'd just gotten used to not having the bloody thing, too. I hope we do this filming soon because it's starting to itch...

God-DAMN but why isn't there a version of GTA IV out for the PC! I'm having to play GTA III to stop from killing the first Xbox/PS3 owner I meet!

My friend Claire is having a birthday party tomorrow, but I have no idea what to get her. She's also gotten engaged since last I saw her, to her boyfriend Gary. I'm thinking this needs a card of prodigous proportions...

Still want to ask out this tall Czech girl in Chi Bar/Resturant. Have asked around today but no-one is free to come with me for a pint. Damn. Will going by myself look sad and desperate?

I've been looking after Meer, my Mum's cat, for a week now and she's starting to get on my nerves. Constant meowing. Constant running about at night (She's been barred from my bedroom as her running across my bed - and me - was keeping me awake). This is why I don't have pets. In retaliation, I've fed her fish-flavour meats solidly for a week, when there's Rabbit and Beef and other stuff waiting to be used. She'll go home and never want to eat another fish for a month, bwaahahahaha.

OK. Time to go. If I don't speak to you here, have a good weekend, everyone.

BATMAN AND ROBIN is on SKYONE and it is truly an awful film, Joel Schumacher should be shot for making such an awful BATMAN film! Where did it all go so wrong, Tim Burton's 1989 film is pretty fantastic and stands up very well, however BATMAN RETURNS - the sets looked not as good as in the first film, Burton's original Gotham looked great but what was he thinking in 1991!?! Keaton is underrated as BATMAN as unlike Clooney he played Wayne and BATMAN differently. Val Kilmer did ok but I'm not such a great fan of BATMAN FOREVER although I've not seen it for 10 years, I remember though that film critic PAUL ROSS (brother of jonathan!) described it as one of the greatest films ever - he truly is full of shit! Introducing ROBIN in BATMAN RETURNS killed the franchise until BATMAN BEGINS of course. Let's hope no smart arse decides to bring ROBIN into any possible 3rd BALE BATMAN franchise! If they do do what one of the comics did and kill ROBIN straight away! BATMAN AND ROBIN isn't worthy of even being mentioned in the same breath as BALE'S BATMAN and even the 1960's film beats the hell our of it, at least it was trying to be camp! HOLLY BATDROPPINGS! as Burt Ward would say. It still desturbs me that Adam West is watchable - god knows why but he is quite funny, I think it never tried to take itsef too seriously! Maybe Schumacher tried to make his BATMAN in the style of Adam West's 1960's but it didn't work! Awful is a word that can't be overused with regard to BATMAN AND ROBIN!

Apologies for my kermodian style rant there with regards to BATMAN AND ROBIN. I am currently waiting up to watch the repeat of Tuesday Nights Battlestar Galactica which is on SKYONE in 30 minutes time. I wonder if the boffins have picked up on my using the word kermodian online!
