Still doing The Happy Dance

Meanwhile, I've been running about town today to various locations, full of vim and vigour after my weight loss success yesterday. I will swear blind I feel more energetic, although even I couldn't find any difference in my body in the mirror this morning, vain creature that I undoubtedly am.

I'm happy for several reasons:
- This is the first time my weight has gone down in about three years.
- I'm now 15st something rather than 16st something. I feel like I've been under the shadow of that 16 for the longest time ever. What a relief to emerge, blinking, into the light!
- This proves that *I* am in control of my own body, and not the other way around (as I've long feared)
- I've been planning this quietly in my head for ages, have made all the little tiny steps toward it in the last year, and now to have it all come together so well is just wonderful. It's a huge achievement in terms of my ability to plan long-term, particularly from someone infamous for having the attention span of a teenage fruit-fly.
- I was expecting a loss of half a lb at most. The group leader told us the average from her other classes was 3-4 lbs (some flash git lost 8 and a half - over half a stone in a week!
) Not only did I shatter my own dismal expectations, I'm above average! - Before I was weighed yesterday, I wasn't sure I could do this at all. Now I have all the confidence in the world. I'm sooo gonna be 'Losing Weight in 2008!'
*does happy dance*
