Eclectic Musings by Grizz

Eclecticity of Grizz

What a day it was...

From the heavens above and the Earth beneath, all is one within my universe. Pristene forest floors abound, the spirit of the Earth surrounds like a warm blanket. Experience of lifes wonderment so cherished.

What began as a mere strole among the creatures and a road less traveled, turned exuberantly pleasant. From the smallest possible form of life to the exhilerating views of Mother Earths bounties..ahhh such a refreshing splurge within times grace.

Having trekked the trail before, I felt the compelling urge to revist a small stretch I find very pleasant. Wildlife, crystal waters, and views to take the breath away at a moments notice. Creatures great and small from the chipmunks to the massively independant Moose, all sharing their home with a total stranger. Waterfalls for a monster treat to the eyes, crossing from place to place on manmade timber trails, to the ever bountiful fields below the alpine ridges.

Oh the images I take home with me after a day of celebration walking among the clouds in heavens grace on this the anniversary of the Churches inception.

No matter the destination.. it is always a celebration to be out walking among the grandest of Mother Earths creations.. Happy trails to all, hope you all had a grand time as I...

What a way to celebrate the COTWG one year anniversary...

Anniversary anticipation..

, , , ...

Well in anticipation of the COTWG 1 year anniversary, I have dug out my favorite walking stick, gathered the digital camera and packet the daypack...I am ready to go..lol. Headed off to the wilds of Maine with no particular destination in mind just a strole to anywhere my feet carry me. Oh the joys of unclassified destinations, never know what I'll see, or who I will meet or what other shinnanigans that may befall me. I always go prepared for the worst though.. been there done that before, dont care to again..lol. Looking forward to the day alone out among heavens grace and in Mother Natures bossom yet again. I will of course leave no trace and capture what memories and visions I can on camera... Hope you all have a great day yourself and looking forward to seeing the snappy's of your adventures on this hallmark occasion for the COTWG.. Take care, be safe, and return a happier person..

WOW...

Cannot believe it has been three months since I have posted here.. Did ya think I fell off he earth or what? With the coming of Spring and Summer, I have had my hands full of things to do. None of which I really want to do..lol. I am so longing for a good 'ol strole through the wilds and some camping its unreal. Been really busy with some home repairs and maintanance, buying vehicles, and so many other things that time has just flown by. I hate to say it but yah.. that nasty white stuff will be here soon enough, and my days of summer will be gone...bummer! No No No,... I can't think about that now.. much to early as there is still a lot of summer left..

So I hope everyone else has been doing fine in their neck of the woods..lol. Guess I need to visit a few blogs and play catch-up huh.. Ok, I will get around and visit...till then, have a great one no matter where you are, and keep on trekking....

Well I'll be a SOB...

I cannot begin to understand Mother Nature this year. She has seen fit to give us yet another dumping of snow. It began today and we are to get approx. 8-14" yet again this go-round. I am begining to think she is conspiring with the big guy and that I am being punsished for a past lifes wrongdoing or something???? Geesh... ENOUGH is ENOUGH!

Everytime I get my hope up for some outdoor time and spring cleaning around the yard.. viola BOHICA.. for those that are not familiar with our New England slang words..."Bend Over,.. Here It comes Again"..lol. I would'nt even mind an inch or two now and then, but everytime its a damn foot or more...grrr.

I may get out for a decent walk somewhere around June if this keeps up..

Considering a new submission of a sacred seal for the COTWG..what do you all think?

Happy Easter one and all...

The sun is shining and all is well in the North East once again. No visible signs of storms on the horizon, just a few raw temps lingering from time to time. After having been graciously whalloped last week I am definately ready to see some green and brown around the 'ol homestead.

I am so ready for Spring...Lord knows I have a to do list a mile long to keep me occupied, but it is so much easier and nicer to do in warmer conditions..lol.

So for now.. Happy Easter to one and all no matter where you are from, and whatever religion you may follow..

Compliments of Mother Nature...

Well as our luck goes here in New England.. Here it is April and look what we were so gracefully given by Mother Nature..

Ain't life grand... yup.. she dumped about a foot and 1/2 on us over night..Joy,joy, joy..NOT!

I am so sick of this stuff its not even funny anymore. Less than 36 hours ago, we were in spring like conditions.. not an ounce of white showing as far as the eyes could see..now this.. So much for April showers.. guess we'll see them in May..if we are lucky.. Geesh!!!!

Guess its time for the shovel to come out of early retirement as I have no gas in the snowblower and no means of getting any considering there is 4 foot wall of packed snow at the bottom of my driveway compliments of the plow trucks..Ohhhh, I hate shovelling. If you look at the top pic,, there is the reminents of a telephone pole behind the car...that is the bottom of my drive.. for those that don't know...my drive is about 75 feet long and on a grade of about 36-40 degrees...Thats a lot of shovelling...usually about two and 1/2 - 3 hours worth, not including the turnaround and walkways... get my point? I HATE SHOVELLING...I HATE WINTER... I HATE SNOW... lol. can you tell I don't like what I see?????

Anyway... Thanks a bunch Mother Nature...let us know when you have given us enough to deal with OK..At this rate we will be into the summer months before we see the grass again... Only consilation is it makes for great sugar and snow season...for those that like maple syrup and its products.. Which I do of course, so there is a bright side...only trick is getting to it...

Well... off to shovel AGAIN.... later all.

Excused abscence..

I may be abscent from my blog for a few days.. I am cross training on three shifts for my new employer, and not really sure when I will be able to post updates, etc. I will try and keep up..but make no guarantees.. I begin a new position in Security at the Central Maine Medical Center tomorrow, and will have my hands full learning the facilities and their policies, etc.

Other than that.. not a whole lot going on in my world as of late, I am shopping for a new SUV though..I am in need of more reliable and newer transportation.. especially with the winters we have around here.. Well just an update and an excuse for my abscence over the next few.... Hope you all have a great week ahead..

Ready to Roll...

, , , ...

Spring has finaly emerged, and it is time to roll out the two wheeler..lol I have so been waiting to take a ride. With any luck at all, by mid April the roads will be clear enough from sand and salt so I can get throtteling once again. :raider:
I have also started a new group here at Opera. Grizz's Travelling Trivia Challange..check it out..

A Poem by Grizz

One Man's Journey

These feet have traveled; many a mile,

Leaving a path; of broken tile.

The ground I tread; has turned to dust,

For adventure; I truly lust.

Always walking; moving forward,

First this direction; then to that.

Packing gear; loosing thought,

Through this land; I do trot.

Careful to leave; no selfish marks,

On the field’s edge, singing larks.

Up the hill; I do trudge,

For this mountain; shall not budge.

Through the desert; barren land,

Painful cacti; thorn in hand.

Under the stars; I do sleep,

Rekindling the past; I do weep.

These eyes have seen; much despair,

What is this fragrance; in the air.

Could it be; a vision within,

As I struggle to begin.

A new day dawns; the sun rises,

Looking forward; to new surprises.

So these feet; continue to wonder,

Through valley and hill; to where I ponder.

There is no destination; I have in mind,

Only to travel; to wonder alone.

To see all there is; in this land,

Before I am forced; to play my hand.

My life here; is a stitch in time,

I do so wish; to see it all.

Remembering every mile...

As I continue; this journey of mine,

Taking a moment; stealing time,

Enjoying this bounty; it brings a smile,

As I trudge, my final mile.

Its time to sleep; my final slumber,

Having walked throughout these lands,

My journey complete; its time to rest,

For in God's hands; I feel best.

Hey daddy... come look at the kittens..

The parents of these children must be proud of their curious littleones and for showing such compasion to our furry friends. To bad they don't fully grasp the white striped markings on these little kittens..lol

A stinky proposition:
