My problem is that it's check engine light keeps coming on, after I clear the codes out of the computer.
I get a P0300 - a random misfire, and a P0506 - idle rpm too low. I get other codes too, all pertaining to the O2 sensors. Oh, and one that tells me that #6 cylinder is definitely misfiring -but only above 60 miles an hour in overdrive. *sigh* I worked on this truck since it had 100k on the clock. It's got 295k on it now.
6 months later- well, hell. It was an exhaust valve giving me fits. The owner didn't want to lay it up for 3 days for me to do the job, so he's been babying it.
Last nite he called me at work. He's a bread man, I work in a bakery overnite. Get the connection? Anyway, he calls, the truck won't go. He went over the railroad tracks, thd truck shuddered & shook, and now it won't move. It runs, goes into gear but won't go anywhere. I go out with another truck, get underneath his - sounds like the rear end is gone. *groan* He doesn't want to spend the $1500 to fix it, goes out and buys a new truck.
I hope I get to work on this one. I worked on this truck forever it seems. Greta, at 350k.
