Remember The song from the 80's with the lyrics "I think I'm turning Japanese, I think I'm turning Japanese, I really think so...

If you do, it's stuck in your head now! Ahhhhhhhhh! faint

Magsintothedeep Wednesday, January 28, 2009 11:19:01 PM

lol

Ya gotta love the diversity though. And I bet "Billy Don't Be A Hero" made the charts!!! bigsmile

Pretty sure "Turning Japanese" did too. Man, the lyrics in that song are incredibly stupid scared Is this guy a racist or what? right

I love all kinds of music, including the songs I hate...these just give me something or someone to make fun of. Yay for music!!!

Funny, I heard an old tune today. "Something Stupid" by the Lennon Sisters. It's so corny, but in an adorable way. Couldn't find a Youtube link. Anyone know the song?

Thanks for sharing the giggles, Dennis smile

Mad Scientistqlue Friday, January 30, 2009 7:30:42 PM

Do ya'll recall that little ditty that went somethin' like, "I bet they won't play this song on the radio, I bet you they won't play this new song." left. Really stupid song actually. And the singer lost the bet. p

KimberlySqueakeyCat Sunday, February 1, 2009 9:39:42 PM

cool

my one to hate, cuz so many ppl have messed with it over the years is Leader Of The Pack. although, i do have to say that i did like the version that Twisted Sister put out of it...lmao

Tyler Parke YoungCaptivevet Monday, February 2, 2009 9:29:45 PM

up This is better. The last time I tried to come onto your site, my computer jambed up.

Tyler Parke YoungCaptivevet Monday, February 2, 2009 9:34:22 PM

"Yummy, Yummy..." is by the 1910 Fruitgum Co. They were a manufactured band like the "Monkees". The Monkees were a satire of the Beatles, yet somehow they turned out not so bad. Their TV show was pretty funny.up

KimberlySqueakeyCat Tuesday, February 3, 2009 1:36:29 AM

i liked the tv show as well

Tyler Parke YoungCaptivevet Tuesday, February 3, 2009 1:50:46 AM

My old highschool memories...zzz

DavidRavo Wednesday, February 4, 2009 11:47:17 PM

Hahaha! lol Excellent!

Tyler Parke YoungCaptivevet Thursday, February 5, 2009 1:20:28 PM

"Billy, Don't Be a Hero", was one of the worst songs ever written.down

H82typ Thursday, February 5, 2009 4:29:02 PM

Wasn't it, Tyler? lol Sorry about your pc jamming up last time. down

The Monkees! The show was Vaudeville, updated. I do have fond memories of it, also!
I must have missed that cover, Kim! bigsmile I'll bet it was a riot!

Hi, David! Thanks for stopping by. We had our own little version of this game at work. I hit google to dredge up new titles and this is what I got! bigsmile

Qlue, I do vaguely remember something like that... way too many beer ago to recollect clearly whistle

Tyler Parke YoungCaptivevet Thursday, February 5, 2009 8:54:14 PM

There certainly was a lot of good music written in that time period, but lord, there were some real stinkers too. "Afternoon Delight" was another bad one that just came to mind.rolleyes

H82typ Thursday, February 5, 2009 9:23:11 PM

Make it stop! MAKE IT STOP! cry Now I'll have that thing stuck in my head... wait...
*pulls out a 10 Years After C.D. pops it in the "jukebox"* Nap time, Tyler... here take one of ¤ these! zzz

Tyler Parke YoungCaptivevet Friday, February 6, 2009 6:04:03 AM

Oh I have a million more of them: "The Ballad of Billy Jack". no

H82typ Friday, February 6, 2009 9:44:52 AM

"One Tin Soldier", *Dennis parries with that and deals Tyler an almost fatal blow, following up with,"We Built This City On Rock and Roll". For the win! \o/ w00t!

Tyler Parke YoungCaptivevet Friday, February 6, 2009 7:34:34 PM

I yield. "We Built This City..." may in fact be the most awfullest sellout rock song of the Common Era.eek faint

H82typ Friday, February 6, 2009 8:01:08 PM

lol How about 'Stairway...' Listen to the music, but sing the words to the 'Gilligans Island' theme song.

Tyler Parke YoungCaptivevet Friday, February 6, 2009 10:51:45 PM

Actually I knew about that one. It is kind of an inside joke among musicians.cool

You have forced me to roll out the big gun: "Indiana Wants Me"....lol

H82typ Friday, February 6, 2009 11:10:32 PM

Who did that? Mark something...
   "Rock'n'Roll Lullaby" p
Time to roll out the NUKE!   Anything by Celine Dion, Kansas or the Doors. Pink Floyds "The Wall" devil

Tyler Parke YoungCaptivevet Friday, February 6, 2009 11:20:39 PM

"My Green Tamborine..."no

Tyler Parke YoungCaptivevet Friday, February 6, 2009 11:22:30 PM

"My Green Tamborine..."no I think that was the "Lemon Pipers". As fake a group as ever walked the earth.down

H82typ Friday, February 6, 2009 11:45:44 PM

No, that dubious honor would have to go to The Banana Splits. Even The Archies were marginally better. bigsmile

Tyler Parke YoungCaptivevet Saturday, February 7, 2009 12:39:37 AM

At least the "Archies" were obviously cartoon characters. They weren't passed off as something "real". What about "Bananrama"?banana

H82typ Saturday, February 7, 2009 7:18:06 AM

They were teenyboppers*shrug* I can't take them or the Banana Splits seriously. Mmmm... I'd still like to see what Veronica looked like irl, with that Southern accent... love

T'pau? no they don't count. One hit wonder.

Tyler Parke YoungCaptivevet Sunday, February 8, 2009 9:35:05 PM

All I can say is that the "Stones" saved my sanity.cool

H82typ Sunday, February 8, 2009 10:49:16 PM

Ah! And you consider that an endorsment! lol
"Sympathy for the Devil", "...Flash" happy ... The old days... cheers

Tyler Parke YoungCaptivevet Monday, February 9, 2009 8:51:46 PM

To the old days:beer For me it was "His Satanic Majesty's Request". It was the "Stone's" answer to "Sgt. Pepper's...". It just made more sense to me.

I was banging out "2000 Man' on the piano earlier today, in fact.cool

lol that is funny! cheers

Tyler Parke YoungCaptivevet Tuesday, March 10, 2009 7:23:00 PM

"It's so very lonely,
Your 2000 light years from home...."cool

H82typ Tuesday, March 10, 2009 10:52:19 PM

bigsmile Glad you liked it Issy! Always a pleasure to see you! happy

H82typ Tuesday, March 10, 2009 10:55:17 PM

Tyler, you know, there was a time you were either a Stones fan, or a Beatles fan. I enjoyed both! bigsmile cool

Tyler Parke YoungCaptivevet Wednesday, March 11, 2009 12:17:53 AM

Well the Beatles were OK, but when I first heard the Stones record: "Satisfaction", played on WLS Chicago, back in 1963, I was a Stones fan from then on and never looked back.cool

Magsintothedeep Wednesday, March 11, 2009 2:50:52 AM

I always favored the Stones, but now I think I lean more towards to the Beatles. It must be an old age thing o

H82typ Wednesday, March 11, 2009 2:10:00 PM

Lennon wrote a little, "In His Own Write", " A Spaniard In The Works" which actually made me like him, solo, even more than I liked him with the Beatles. (I have never liked McCartney)
I can't imagine Mick, or Keith writing anything like that. lol *shrug*
When it comes to writing songs, I've always liked Lennons stuff more.

It seems like I'm having a dialogue with myself here! lol I'm waffling back and forth. p I'm so tired! And sorry! Gotta go! sad zzz

Tyler Parke YoungCaptivevet Wednesday, March 11, 2009 5:16:07 PM

Are you sleeping now? Lennon kept McCartney's songs from getting to insipid. McCartney kept Lennon from getting to esoteric. They were never as good seperately.

Mick Jaggers and Keith Richards never had any pretensions of being intellectuals. That is one of the things I like about them.

"Sgt. Pepper's...": "All you need is love..."

"Satanic Majesty's...": All you need is another beer and a trip to the "strip" club.
cheers

Magsintothedeep Wednesday, March 11, 2009 11:38:54 PM

bigsmile

Phantom2 Thursday, March 12, 2009 12:43:09 AM

Would someone turn up the music......I can't hear over all the chatter...bigsmile
