Remember The song from the 80's with the lyrics "I think I'm turning Japanese, I think I'm turning Japanese, I really think so...

If you do, it's stuck in your head now! Ahhhhhhhhh! :faint:

intothedeep 28. January 2009, 23:19

Ya gotta love the diversity though. And I bet "Billy Don't Be A Hero" made the charts!!! :D

Pretty sure "Turning Japanese" did too. Man, the lyrics in that song are incredibly stupid :insane: Is this guy a racist or what? :right:

I love all kinds of music, including the songs I hate...these just give me something or someone to make fun of. Yay for music!!!

Funny, I heard an old tune today. "Something Stupid" by the Lennon Sisters. It's so corny, but in an adorable way. Couldn't find a Youtube link. Anyone know the song?

Thanks for sharing the giggles, Dennis

fammcdon 28. January 2009, 23:30

You really do need to get a life!

intothedeep 28. January 2009, 23:43

Hey, leave Dennis alone. He's expanding our horizons p:

H82typ 29. January 2009, 01:33

 What? You think this is the only place I hang out?

H82typ 29. January 2009, 01:33

Thanks, Mags!

H82typ 29. January 2009, 01:35

If I keep this up, I'm going to need a pc with two monitors!

fammcdon 29. January 2009, 02:34

Yay...just what you need...another door-stop. p:

qlue 30. January 2009, 19:30

Do ya'll recall that little ditty that went somethin' like, "I bet they won't play this song on the radio, I bet you they won't play this new song." :left:. Really stupid song actually. And the singer lost the bet. p:

SqueakeyCat 1. February 2009, 21:39

my one to hate, cuz so many ppl have messed with it over the years is Leader Of The Pack. although, i do have to say that i did like the version that Twisted Sister put out of it...lmao

Captivevet 2. February 2009, 21:29

 This is better. The last time I tried to come onto your site, my computer jambed up.

Captivevet 2. February 2009, 21:34

"Yummy, Yummy..." is by the 1910 Fruitgum Co. They were a manufactured band like the "Monkees". The Monkees were a satire of the Beatles, yet somehow they turned out not so bad. Their TV show was pretty funny.

SqueakeyCat 3. February 2009, 01:36

i liked the tv show as well

Captivevet 3. February 2009, 01:50

My old highschool memories...

Ravo 4. February 2009, 23:47

Hahaha! Excellent!

Captivevet 5. February 2009, 13:20

"Billy, Don't Be a Hero", was one of the worst songs ever written.

H82typ 5. February 2009, 16:29

Wasn't it, Tyler? Sorry about your pc jamming up last time.

The Monkees! The show was Vaudeville, updated. I do have fond memories of it, also!
I must have missed that cover, Kim! :D I'll bet it was a riot!

Hi, David! Thanks for stopping by. We had our own little version of this game at work. I hit google to dredge up new titles and this is what I got! :D

Qlue, I do vaguely remember something like that... way too many  ago to recollect clearly

Captivevet 5. February 2009, 20:54

There certainly was a lot of good music written in that time period, but lord, there were some real stinkers too. "Afternoon Delight" was another bad one that just came to mind.

H82typ 5. February 2009, 21:23

Make it stop! MAKE IT STOP! Now I'll have that thing stuck in my head... wait...
*pulls out a 10 Years After C.D. pops it in the "jukebox"* Nap time, Tyler... here take one of ¤ these!

Captivevet 6. February 2009, 06:04

Oh I have a million more of them: "The Ballad of Billy Jack".

H82typ 6. February 2009, 09:44

"One Tin Soldier", *Dennis parries with that and deals Tyler an almost fatal blow, following up with,"We Built This City On Rock and Roll". For the win! \o/ w00t!

Captivevet 6. February 2009, 19:34

I yield. "We Built This City..." may in fact be the most awfullest sellout rock song of the Common Era. :faint:

H82typ 6. February 2009, 20:01

 How about 'Stairway...' Listen to the music, but sing the words to the 'Gilligans Island' theme song.

Captivevet 6. February 2009, 22:51

Actually I knew about that one. It is kind of an inside joke among musicians.

You have forced me to roll out the big gun: "Indiana Wants Me"....

H82typ 6. February 2009, 23:10

Who did that? Mark something...
   "Rock'n'Roll Lullaby" p:
Time to roll out the NUKE!   Anything by Celine Dion, Kansas or the Doors. Pink Floyds "The Wall"

Captivevet 6. February 2009, 23:20

"My Green Tamborine..."

Captivevet 6. February 2009, 23:22

"My Green Tamborine..." I think that was the "Lemon Pipers". As fake a group as ever walked the earth.

H82typ 6. February 2009, 23:45

No, that dubious honor would have to go to The Banana Splits. Even The Archies were marginally better. :D

Captivevet 7. February 2009, 00:39

At least the "Archies" were obviously cartoon characters. They weren't passed off as something "real". What about "Bananrama"?banana

H82typ 7. February 2009, 07:18

They were teenyboppers*shrug* I can't take them or the Banana Splits seriously. Mmmm... I'd still like to see what Veronica looked like irl, with that Southern accent...

T'pau? no they don't count. One hit wonder.

Captivevet 8. February 2009, 21:35

All I can say is that the "Stones" saved my sanity.

H82typ 8. February 2009, 22:49

Ah! And you consider that an endorsment!
"Sympathy for the Devil", "...Flash" ... The old days...

Captivevet 9. February 2009, 20:51

To the old days::beer: For me it was "His Satanic Majesty's Request". It was the "Stone's" answer to "Sgt. Pepper's...". It just made more sense to me.

I was banging out "2000 Man' on the piano earlier today, in fact.

Ravo 14. February 2009, 03:57

Hey there captivevet, 2000 lightyears from home was my favorite cut on that album!

Hi Dennis, just here kicking the tires. I hope tomorrow finds you with your favorite valentine, my friend!

wickedlizard 9. March 2009, 20:22

 that is funny!

Captivevet 10. March 2009, 19:23

"It's so very lonely,
Your 2000 light years from home...."

H82typ 10. March 2009, 22:52

:D Glad you liked it Issy! Always a pleasure to see you!

H82typ 10. March 2009, 22:55

Tyler, you know, there was a time you were either a Stones fan, or a Beatles fan. I enjoyed both! :D

Captivevet 11. March 2009, 00:17

Well the Beatles were OK, but when I first heard the Stones record: "Satisfaction", played on WLS Chicago, back in 1963, I was a Stones fan from then on and never looked back.

intothedeep 11. March 2009, 02:50

I always favored the Stones, but now I think I lean more towards to the Beatles. It must be an old age thing :o:

H82typ 11. March 2009, 14:10

Lennon wrote a little, "In His Own Write", " A Spaniard In The Works" which actually made me like him, solo, even more than I liked him with the Beatles. (I have never liked McCartney)
I can't imagine Mick, or Keith writing anything like that. *shrug*
When it comes to writing songs, I've always liked Lennons stuff more.

It seems like I'm having a dialogue with myself here! I'm waffling back and forth. p: I'm so tired! And sorry! Gotta go! :frown:

Captivevet 11. March 2009, 17:16

Are you sleeping now? Lennon kept McCartney's songs from getting to insipid. McCartney kept Lennon from getting to esoteric. They were never as good seperately.

Mick Jaggers and Keith Richards never had any pretensions of being intellectuals. That is one of the things I like about them.

"Sgt. Pepper's...": "All you need is love..."

"Satanic Majesty's...": All you need is another beer and a trip to the "strip" club.

intothedeep 11. March 2009, 23:38

:D

Phantom2 12. March 2009, 00:43

Would someone turn up the music......I can't hear over all the chatter...:D
