Joomla Feed Gator

, , ,

Feed Gator is Joomla component which import rss feeds into Joomla content items. So if you find good feeds for your site you will always have fresh news. I just installed Feed Gator at my http://www.evilscience.monoblue.org web site and had few problems. My source rss feeds was from blogger, so they have compatibility issue with magpie parser used by Feed Gator. So i burned my rss feeds with free google service www.feedburner.com and turned on option for maximum compatibilty of feeds. Then i added that new feeds to Feed Gator. After that i scheduled cron job from CPanel and set it up at every 6 hours. Now my site is updated every six hours with new content. Also i added no follow plugin. You can find new feed gator version on project homepage
http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/feedgator/.
Also next version will use Simple Pie parser so you will not have need for feedburner.com with incompatible feeds...

This is the only thing I found (after months of searching) that easily solves the common issue of importing Blogger content into Joomla. Very grateful! Thank you!
