Processor Upgrade

, , ,

Just bought Athlon X2 7750 to replace my old Athlon 3800 64. I picked that since I needed AM2 compatible processor and that one was really cheap. When I putted new processor on my Gigabyte M55S-S3 mainboard it failed to boot so I realized that I need to bios flashing. So I putted back old processor, I downladed latest version of bios, formatted Floppy disc with option copy system files, copied bios too it, restarted pc, booted from floppy drive and voila bios update started automatically. Who would say that floppy disc still have some use . I searched a little bit and according to When Guide floppies are here from 1971. That is almost 40 years . Fascinating,

Anyway new processor is in and I must say it is noticeable difference between one core processor and dual one.

Now I will probably have again four years without upgrade.

Opera M2Ehehe this time is Oes Tsetnoc
