Here is a beautiful and inspiring project winner of a housing competition in Madrid. Designed by J.A.C. y Asociados, Arquitectura.
Simple, imaginative, modern, fun... and a very interesting use of colour and material in architecture.
I would love to live in one of these flats!!!!

The colors are great. Much better than drab gray buildings.

Yes, usually flat buildings are made with "boring" materials ... This project is different... Also, the layout is quite dinamic, not the typical square arrangement of blocks.

Yes, I like the layout too. There are many places in the states that could use some brightening up with something like this. Too many old buildings are being torn down, however, and I wish they could be just renovated and painted. Not sure about the cost comparison though....tearing down and rebuilding as opposed to renovating. You'd think it would be cheaper to renovate but then the old buildings may be unsafe.
