If Only I Were As Cool As My Dogs Think I am!

Welcome To My Somewhat Coherent Babbling

Checking In

, , ,

Hey gang! I've been away from Opera for a little bit, but here I am checking in.

The summer is coming to a close, the schools begin soon. The weather has been rainy and cooler. (bad fibro!) I spent this past week working to help fill in while the director is on vaca. She and her husband have gone on a 3 week road trip to the mountains (camping) and to visit family a bit. I'm so jealous!! bigsmile Naturally the extra activity has exhausted me. Fatigue, headache, and dizziness have all found me. I'm feeling a bit better today. A step in the right direction anyway. It's been a rough couple of days though. I was told Friday that I looked like I'd been on a 3-day bender. Red eyes and dark circles under my eyes. Nope, just fibro flaring (and allergies). Also I was wearing my contacts so it was more obvious than when I wear my glasses. I'm afraid I probably look like that often. Pretty! p

Poor Hermit has been working way too much. I'll be glad when they get this project over and he can have a more relaxed (as in less than 70 hours a week of work) schedule. We have been keeping up with each other through phone calls while he's driving, texts, notes, dinners, and movies snuggled together in bed. Usually he falls asleep about 5 minutes into the movie but I don't care, I'm just glad to be close to him and he's resting. heart
Last night we watched "Monty Python and The Holy Grail". It's so funny, it's one of my favorite movies. It's impossible NOT to laugh. lol

There has been some speculation that Magnus has been replaced by Bella as my favorite furry buddy. Noooo! Magnus is a typical guy, doesn't care for snuggling (but always must be touching me) and has his own quiet ways. Bella likes to snuggle and hug, as well as entertaining me with silly flips, paw slaps in the face, and other antics. She's hard to ignore and often does funny things worth mentioning. I adore them both, but they are much different in their personalities. They get along great still and play every day. Magnus has been with me too long and grew up here alongside me, learning the relaxed quiet ways of the house as he matured. So he's not at all as silly and goofy as Bella. LOL I love both my pups, they are great company! bigsmile

I saw this photo and thought it was funny:

Also I made a cake and got the frosting right this time! It was delicious! Sorry no photos, it wasn't colorful as I was out of food coloring. I planned to make another but was unable to get all the ingredients I needed. Will try again Monday. up

OMG!! I almost forgot to tell you the best story! LOL
Last Wednesday I took the dogs outside before I left for work. The storm door closed behind me and when I went to push the button on the handle to get back in, it broke -- locking itself. bigeyes Here I was outside, no keys, no cell phone. The only thing between me and getting back inside was a 20 year old glass and screen door. irked I thought, and thought, then made a decision.

Yes, I did.

I first tried to kick to glass in, which did nothing but tear the screen and remind me I had hurt my foot the day before. oops. I grabbed the grill brush and swung it like a baseball bat and broke the glass in the bottom section of the door. Success! I reached in and tried to unlock the door but it was broken and stuck locked. *sigh* I carefully broke the rest of the glass out of the section and climbed through it (barely) into the house. Then I got my lavender tool set (oh yes I said Lavender) and removed the handle from the door. I brought the dogs in, err, carried them over the glass, and then cleaned up my mess.

I've been so wanting a new storm door. whistle

Hermit thought it was hilarious and wishes he could have seen me attempting to kick in the door. LOL
I was 30 minutes late for work because of that. They thought it was pretty entertaining as well.
What? Can't a girl break into her own house? p

I'm so glad that the glass didn't break when you kicked it. I'm still living with the consequences of my encounter with a glass door twenty months ago. Glass is dangerous stuff.

You're right, it's absolutely impossible to not laugh of that Monty Python film. So, you were there together, him happily snoring and you laughing like a goof?! lol

The breaking in-story is hilarious. I would also have loved to see you swing the grill brush!! Talk about girl power! yes

Gavin I was very careful! The way the glass broke, it didn't shatter like regular glass, it broke but mostly spiderwebbed and even then there weren't sharp points, it broke in wierd little shapes. Am wondering what kind of glass that was! are you ok?

Zaphira, yes pretty much! LOL We watch many movies that way. bigsmile
I think I could have sold tickets for people to watch me break the glass. lol

I know that there is glass that breaks safely, glasses in English pubs have to use it by law. My hand is a bit tender, but I'm okay, thanks. smile Just carefull with glass!
