If Only I Were As Cool As My Dogs Think I am!

Welcome To My Somewhat Coherent Babbling

Happy Music

After getting some sleep. :right: I got inspired by my other music post to post some of what I call "Happy Music". You know, that music, whether it's the wording or the the tune, just makes you happy and want to dance a little (or a lot!)

I decided to share some of mine

The music that picks me up and makes me want to sing along tends to be more from the beat than the words. I'm not one for dancing but these are songs I'd totally (or have) work out to. As it turns out, the videos are rather entertaining as well! p:

I was never into YouTube until I realized music videos are on there. :eyes: I always thought it was only personal video people uploaded.

More links, for videos and tunes of some of my favorites... :sing:
Oh, and two of the cuties from the last tune are from the town I live in! (singer and bass guitarist)

For dance tunes, these groups are my favourite:
Trooper
Abba
Loverboy
Foreigner
Buddy Holly
Lovin' Spoonful
Blondie
Pat Benatar
Supertramp (naw..jus' kiddin' - totally undanceable tunes)

Oh you like the older stuff. Have you seen the movie "Muriels Wedding"? ALL the music in that movie is by ABBA.

I liked Foreigner, Blondie, and Pat Benatar when they were popular but I haven't heard them in forever!

Do you dance Henry?

Yup: seen Muriel's Wedding (eons ago). There just hasn't been a lot of "happy" dance music in a long time (unless you're looking for indie productions; why do you think many of the commercials nowadays use 60's - 80's music?). The garbage pawned off by major record labels for the past 15 years is almost virtually lacking in musical creativity. 4/4 time and sub bass = :yuck:

On the other hand, great Christian bands come to mind: DC Talk, Casting Crowns, Audio Adrenaline, Downhere.

I would only dance if tortured - and it wouldn't look much better than torture. That's why I stick to "air musician" and workin' the sound board. Those I can do pretty well.

LOL I don't like to dance either. Unless you count my "car dancing" which is more for keeping me awake on long drive.

I agree much of the music these days is not very creative, and they seem to be remaking a lot of older music into new songs.

There are a few bands that seem to work on really creating their own sound/voice though. Linkin Park is my favorite band, they have been around a while but are not a really old band. Which reminds me, their new album comes out soon
