If Only I Were As Cool As My Dogs Think I am!

Welcome To My Somewhat Coherent Babbling

Surprises Are Fun!

,

Yesterday I was wandering around my house and picking up things and cleaning a bit. There was a knock at the door and suprise! It was the FedEx man. :D

After attempting to sign his electronic clipboard upside down, I joyously took my package and darted indoors. The dogs were equally excited and convinced this box contained something for them, so I had to set it down and let them sniff all the smells it contained before I got to open it.

It seems my new purse from Thailand arrived 6 days early! That was a cool surprise.
I opened up the box and found that it had been carefully wrapped in what appears to be handmade paper.
The paper laid flat was the outer layer and then you see it has a second layer. I hated to mess it up, so I was very careful not to tear it.

My new purse is very pretty with the colors. It's a great size for all my stuff. It is well made and I really like it. I'm wondering what significance the elephants are? I'm thinking they are good luck symbols in Thailand. I'm not sure though, does anyone know?

Other things happening today....

Hermit stayed home. He's exhausted and sick. Poor guy! :frown: He is still working 90 hours a week. That is insane. It makes me mad that they work him like that. He is getting other job offers from different contract labor companies they use. So he has options if he gets fed up with it.

I spent my day doing annoying task of trying to get the insurance check for our fabulous new roof taken care of. I deposited it over a week ago and they sent it back yesterday saying it wasn't endorsed by Hermit and the money had been removed from our account. Ok, no biggie, he signs it and I take it back. Then, nooo, the insurance co didn't endorse it either. So I tromp over to another place that is part of this co and explain to them what I need. the cranky lady says; You must have an appointment and everyone listed on the check must be present, plus the claim information, ect... blah blah blah, anyway we got it deposited FINALLY and I'm glad to have that done. Geez, what a pain in the arse.

Hermit and I did spend some time together. We didn't do anything because he really doesn't feel up to being active. The dogs and I spent some time outdoors in the yard enjoying this fine weather we are having. Oh and I had a nap too.

How was your day?

OMG, 90 hours! That's not good! :worried:

:sst: I  the phantie!

Lu 1. October 2009, 12:34

Oooh i get it, Hermit is a robot! Cause no human can work 90 hours and live so... :right:

I think elephants are Thailand's "national symbol", which is ironic since they treat them like crap out there! :irked:

And those electronic pad thingys never work! I "sign" it and it looks like two lines and a dot! Useless! Give me pen and paper!

Hermitess 1. October 2009, 13:57

Yes, 90. Insanity! It's not always just for another month or so. :insane: I'd be dead by now. Hermit is a work horse, but even he can't hold up. He is on day 2 of being at home sick. I think he has the flu or rabies or cooties or something. :left:

Lucy I was thinking they used them for work and things but I can't remember for sure. Maybe I should google it!

Kittylicious 1. October 2009, 14:39

The elephant is a symbol of fortune in Thailand.

Hermit should listen to his body, it's obviously trying to tell him that he's working too much. :left:

Cooties?

ღೋCupcake Blogೋღ 1. October 2009, 16:47

I can't imagine my husband working that many hours...I cry all the time when I take him to work, I miss him for the few 8 that he works.

*hugs*

The general limit to work hours in the European Union is 48 per week. The UK has an opt out so people can work more if they wish, but ninety is just...too much :insane:

ShallowMuse 1. October 2009, 20:15

i love getting stuff in the post! Except it doesnt really work that way here. we get a slip in the postbox and collect the stuff at the post office. so no fancy schmancy electronic sign board what whats for me :frown:

(and i think you should start rioting against 90 hours. honestly!)

Hermitess 1. October 2009, 20:45

I tried to riot! :frown: I tell him he works too much but he will not listen to me. Even his boss has sent him home a few times telling him he works too much. Is it my breath? He has a hard time stopping on something until it's finished.

Thanks Zaphira! I wanted to be sure I wasn't carrying around a bad symbol :right:

Gavin, yes cooties. All boys have them. p: LOL it's a made up illness that little kids say the other has. Cooties, like germs

Gavin Sheedy 2. October 2009, 00:52

 Start ringing him after eight hours with "Are you coming home yet? Are you coming home yet? Are you coming home yet?" :D

Hermitess 2. October 2009, 13:41

I threatened his boss with taking away all his beer if Hermit works too long. p:
